Awesome breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and rooms were quite nice. You feel like each room is a little different and gives you the loft apartment "feel" I would recommend staying at the City Hotel Groningen, lots to do within walking distance.

Central Groningen perfect stay
The reception on arrival was great and the service was excellent - by offering a drink and explain how the hotel operates. The hall (incl. breakfast room) has a home-like feel and has boardgames displayed. You can also play pool in the hall whilst having a drink. Also, you get two access cards to the room which is spacey, modern and clean. No noise was heard during our stay.

lovely but some room for improvement
Hotel location is great, the breakfast was fine too although as a Ceoliac it was a little limited but i didn't starve ! Room was spacious and clean but lighting was poor given the colour scheme was very black. bed was comfy but bathroom smelled a lot of sewerage. DO NOT get a room on the street side if you are a light sleeper like i am as you will get very little sleep with the noise. Room was cold even with the heating on for 3 hrs and very noisy - shame these little things were like they were because the staff are super friendly and professional throughout the hotel and very polite and mannerly.

Great hotel and breakfast!
We were very pleased with our stay at City Hotel Groningen. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bathroom quite large. The breakfast was fantastic. The best hotel buffet breakfast we have ever had. My only request would be to put a sheet on the bed under the duvet. The duvet was extremely warm and in summer we found it too warm. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever. Would definitely recommend staying here.
