We have stayed here every year for the past 13 years for the Tip Up Town weekend. and sadly this year things were much different and lacking the things that had us coming back. Check in was difficult and lengthy and were told it was because it was booked on Expedia. We utilized our pull out sofa bed for our guest, and were told they may not have enough blankets for everyone because the hotel was packed?
The restaurant did not have their usual license to serve adult cocktails with our dinner and were told maybe by Monday it would be restored? The pool was extremely cold( in respect it was cold outside) and my son fell walking in the pool area because we were told they just resurfaced the floor and painted and didn't do the floor” right” to provide some traction. The arcade had many things that didn’t work or would take your money. There were crackers and plastic knives under our couch in our room so that leads me to believe that they did not strip the sheet off of the sofa prior or they would have seen the debris. The morning breakfast was nothing like it used to be and was lacking almost everything by 9 am other than you make waffles. When we asked for some milk( available every year) we were told they ran out yesterday? Generally I don’t write reviews, so maybe this will help management make some improvements to encourage people to return to their hotel and help get it back up to where it used to be. Positives would include comfortable bed and location. Thank you
