Except the receptionist, the staff was really helpful and kind. The receptionist was either totally ignorant or lacking common sense.Despite seeing me and my partners with crutches, he gave us a room way further away from the lift. Also the room didn’t have an accessible bathroom. When we were leaving when I asked if they had disabled rooms, he said yes. The surroundings were amazing, beautiful and tranquil. They also had an impressive breakfast menu. Over all we enjoyed being there.

2 night stay with a dog

Booked for a couple of nights while visiting family in Darent hospital which is a short drive away. Easy check-in, large room with lovely lake view. Out main reason for booking here was it’s a dog friendly hotel. There were nice walks but would have benefited from a fridge in the room as we needed to keep dog food chilled.

Clean rooms, friendly staff but hotel itself very shabby, in need of full refurbishment. Bath enamel chipped, stained ceiling, very tired and old. A lot of repairs required.

Over due a revamp !

A quick stop off, however the room had been allocated incorrectly, this meant a 45 minute wait at reception to check in. They sorted there error … but it should not have taken 45 minutes. The manager didn’t seem to have an understanding of the lay out of the rooms … it was all rather fawlty towers . Hotel is well over due a refurb it’s very much stuck in the 80s. Breakfast was disappointing, bland, cheap products with domestic toasters and basic filter coffee machine sprinkled with dreadful music . I’m sure this place was good back in the day … the rooms were clean but it’s definitely had its day !!

This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. The cleanliness in the hotel rooms was absolutely awful! I had to move to a different room and the second room wasn’t any better. I was suppose to stay for 2 nights but I had to leave after the first night. This hotel needs a lot improvements

Friendly and competent staff, room was spacious with direct access to the lake (great for taking the dog out easily). Decor was outdated, but didn't distract from the overall stay, considering the place was priced appropriately. Everything was in good and working order.

3 star rated hotel and was what you'd expect.It was clean, and comfortable and would stay again! Breakfast was included in the price and there was a good selection, continental and warm breakfast!

Good value hotel accomodation. Free parking. Helpful staff. Yes the hotel is dated definitely not contemporary..look out for the bird pictures. the gold bobble wall decorations, the few steps up to first floor ( not sure how that worked!), the fish tank and the school hall looking breakfast room...but....the rooms are very clean, towels clean, great simple breakfast (lovely waffles) and all at a very reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again

Rooms are very dated, the bed was broken we asked if we could change rooms so we could actually get a good nights sleep and was told we had to pay an additional £20 food is very over priced

The floors needed a good old clean & carpets smelled like old pub carpets along the corridor. Feels like it needs a good old spring clean to freshen things up! The bar area is too dark to see the menu, had to get a torch light from my phone. The staff were helpful & helped us with any problems although breakfast waiter had forgotten to take our order & then arrived with fried instead of poached egg (which was unfortunately overcooked!) On a good note, the view of the lake was absolutely amazing & plenty of parking onsite.
