The front desk was very hospitable. We didn't care much for the room service, ordered twice and was so dissappointed. Better quality food elsewhere, and cheaper. Pool area was great and life guards present which was great. Room and beds were clean/comfy. Bathroom was extremely small. All in all would not stay here again unless we were coming for just the pool and to sleep. Parking is a nightmare!

Bathrooms are way too small. The bathroom door has a half inch between the toilet and closing. The shower is half open so the water splashes out on the floor, they should have a sliding door. Breakfast was ok but pricey and few options to choose from. Parking lot is very small, had to make my own parking spot a block away.

For a place that has hundreds of people come and go every day, the elevator placement, and lack of elevators, on the lobby floor is absurd. Continuously backed up with only 2 running elevators whose main platform is right in front of a bar. It’s was a congested mess at busy hours of the day.

While there were many positive aspects of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa-nice facilities, great pool area for kids, and clean rooms; the entire experience was a bit stressful, particularly parking being extremely hard to find. On two occasions I had to park in the remote lot as the main parking lot (and the overflow lot were full). It’s worth mentioning Traverse City was recieving heavy snowfall on this particular weekend. The kids liked the pool area but it was often very crowded, likely due to multiple youth sports tournaments taking place on site and in the area. My kids wished the lifeguards could be more proactive in keeping kids moving across the rope walk on the lily pads (similar to what Great Wolf Lodge does). Others would just sit or stand on the lily pads making this feature hard to use. All in all we liked the place, and I’d stay again, but might think twice on such a busy weekend.

I sent an email regarding my stay, and we are highly disappointed , have not received a response. We came in on Friday and left Monday morning. Like many others, had we have known there were 2 separate children travel sports teams taking over the hotel, we could've booked elsewhere and tried this one another time. But I will never come back here or recommend it to anyone else. The restaurant hours were very short and impossible to get into. The one with more flexible hours, was impossible to get into since it was catering to hoards of child athletes...when it was a bar. When choosing this place, we were expecting to use the adult only outdoor pools, and yet there were children each day in and out of them. My husband went to use the gym to escape the stampede of kids running up and down halls and stairs, to find kids in the gym. We are very flexible and know the hotel is there to accommodate everyone, including families with children. However, for the price point and the image they are trying to sell, just be a family resort instead of something formal and relaxing. Total waste of money and super disappointed

The condo we stay at had no amenities and it’s crazy they don’t provide anything since you have to check in at the main hotel lobby but then drive a block away to get to the condo. This makes it very difficult to enjoy any amenities at the hotel. They shovel the side walk in the morning and that’s it. No salt, no anything was laid down to prevent slipping on the stairs or walk ways. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re ok with staying off site.
