Excelente option in Palisade. The Hotel is surrounded by vineyards with impressive mountain views. Very quaint decor and surroundings. Comfortable and quiet. Staff was very helpful. Would stay here again.

Too expensive for just a regulate motel for looking over a parking lot. Needs light under coffee area. WiFi very slow. Toilet paper way too far from the toilet. Bath tub chipped. Had to keep telling breakfast staff of many things that were empty ie: coffee, potato’s, bowls, coffee, as we were checking in they received a booking via phone and it was $70 less then our reservation.

Unfounded Credit Card Charge. Thieves?

We stayed at the Wine Country Inn in Palisade, CO on our trip out west to visit many of our great National Parks. I was charged by the hotel the full amount of the incidental/security deposit credit card hold that they require when you check in and it was the largest deposit I have ever been required to put down. No other hotel in my travel life had ever abused their right to make a charge against the deposit so I slid my card in as required. I did not know they used the deposit until a few days after I got home and reviewed the transactions from our trip. I called them right away to inquire as to why they charged me as the room had been prepaid through Expedia. They told me that it was Expedia that told them to charge the card and "stuff like this happens when you book 3rd party". So I called Expedia (and it was difficult to get through) they said they had nothing to do with the credit card charge and then put me on hold while they called the Wine Country Inn who then changed their story about the charge and told Expedia that the charge was because three pillows were missing from the room that we stayed in. I did not steal their used pillows! Sad that people have to go through the hassle and wasted time and loss of money. Vacations are suppose to be about having fun, learning and creating good memories not the bad memories and hassles I got here. But I will as Rick Steves famously says "Keep on Traveling" and I will skip the Wine Country Inn next time I'm in Colorado.
