El Albayzín es Patrimonio de la UNESCO por conservar sus callejuelas y casas típicas. Está levantado en altura y sus calles son estrechas y laberínticas.
A 5 minutos a pie del centro, bien comunicado con la Catedral, la mayoría de restaurantes y bares, las famosas teterías árabes y la mayoría de los principales puntos de interés de la ciudad. La entrada principal de la Alhambra se encuentra sólo a 20 minutos andando.
