This warm and comfortable lodge near the heart of Government Camp showcases its historic charm! This remodeled condo offers a spacious living area. You'll also enjoy a shared year-round heated pool, heated sidewalks surrounding the pool area, a shared game room with a pool table, a foosball table, a wet bar, and a covered deck to use in the glorious summer months! Ideally located minutes from Mt. Hood Skibowl and shops and restaurants in the center of town, SkiWay Lodge at Thunderhead is an ideal spot for your next trip to Mt. Hood. For endless winter or summer fun options, take the free shuttle to Timberline Ski Resort and then backcountry downhill directly to your condo's slider door on the Ungroomed Thunderhead Trail. In the winter, you can snowshoe around Trillium Lake to the south; come summer, this area is perfect for hiking, biking, and enjoying alpine lakes, wildflower-filled meadows, and incredible scenic vistas of the mountain.

Annual Trip a success again

We come here every year. This is such a wonderful location. Thank you for continuing to make this available I wish it had a few more rooms connected to it, but perfect for 10 people.

No heat

There is plenty of communication that there is only radiator heaters to heat the unit. However, the radiator heaters were not working. We messaged & called the property manager. She told us we would get a call back. We never did. We had to heat the entire place with small electric heaters; which is not the safest way to sleep 😳 Great location. Great space. The property mngt company was non responsive, however.

The room was excellent and correspondence with the property manager was excellent too. The directions for the code to get on the front door were a little confusing, but the property manager was very reponsive.

The cabin was so comfortable like a home away from home. Very responsive staff to our needs and we could not hear other guest in the building which made it a very relaxing trip. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze. Will book again and again I’m sure.

My Hood Beauty

Overall our stay was nice - lots of space, quiet, and the kitchen is very well equipped. There were a couple items we disliked. First is the confusing check in and parking process. All the various key boxes on the front entry were not labeled and very confusing. Parking in back has no signage and we literally discovered it after we packed all our gear up the stairs. The feature shower was nice but the drain is plugged so the water runs out onto the floor. The handrails on the back deck are in need of immediate repair. There are exposed rusty screws and nails and the handrails are pulled apart. A small contact could end up with a serious accident.

Communication breakdown

I was told I would be given an "emergency maintenance" contact number when I checked in. No such number was found. One morning, water began dripping from the unit above onto the couch. I tried knocking on that door (no luck) and left two urgent messages saying, "Please contact me ASAP". Still no response. The drips stopped eventually. Otherwise, great unit, great location and a nice holiday.

Not the right property

This property did not live up to expectations. - The WiFi did not work and we had to utilize cell phone hotspots for everything. - The ceiling had leaks from units above, the dishwasher leaked and was not attached to the cabinetry so it tipped out. - There were carpenter ants everywhere and my wife woke up with an ant crawling on her in the bedroom. Additionally the maintenance person only texted us and never showed up to address any issues. I would not rent this unit unless they have these issues resolved.

Fun on the mountain

Great hot pool, perfect for cold nights with beautiful snowflakes falling all around you. Dryer was broken? Everything you could ever want in kitchen and elsewhere. Gorgeous old fireplace added a lot to our snowy mountain trip!

Was like advertised. Need fix two shower knobs. Lots of dishes, pots,pans. Bedroom and beds clean and as advertised. Close to everything. Huge living area. Lord of games, great rev room. Pool clean and warm. Love the history of the property.
