Air-condition is available in all rooms free of charge. A beautiful fire place will keep you warm at winter nights. Can accomodate up to 6 persons. Terrace and garden are overlooking the sea. A fabulous stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable, especially the beds. Short little walk down to a lovely beach with beds and drinks. A 15 - 20 minute walk to some lovely tavernas with lovely views over the sea. Mini market and superb bakery 15 min walk from apartment. Great bus service to Heraklion. Owners superb. Great welcome from George who also drove us to the big supermarket on our first day :-)). All in all we had a great week and some super weather. Highly recommend ******

Villa Eva beautiful respite on Crete Coast

Loved Villa Eva. So close to the ocean. Beautiful sunrises; walk to sites, restaurants and shops. Well appointed two bedroom apartment. The welcome raki regular and honey infused a wonderful touch. Nice deck/patio to bask in the beautiful sunrise and enjoy the evening. Lovely garden area with seating. Absoulutely would stay again. Yassas.

Lovely apartment close to beach!

This apartment is lovely, very clean and newly decorated. The garden is also lovely. The owners are delightful, they kept bring us gifts of food and were generally very helpful. The beach is very close with sunloungers and a little cafe. Restaurants and bars are about 10 to 15 minute walk away. Hire car was very useful.

The property was great. We were welcomed by the owner and treated with cake, water and wine. The one issue was Crete was much larger than we expected and property is located in the middle of the island. We were not able to explore as much as we wanted due to our time constraints. The property located on a closed military establishment with homes interspersed and restaurants along the coast. Washer worked great tho instructions were in Greek and took much longer to do a load than expected. Loved the shower and the living room space. Beds a tad firm for our taste. Should have done more research on the places to visit-glad we rented a car-a must have for this property.

Beautiful luxury villa on Crete!

Our visit to Crete was over the Christmas holidays and we were warmly greeted by our host who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay on Crete. The home is in the same building as the owners which was nice if we had questions. It is very stylish and has beautiful décor and had lovely Christmas decorations, the beds were very comfortable, the area is quiet and within walking distance to the beach. The kitchen is available for any meals you choose to prepare yourself and does have a dishwasher. Our host (Anastasia's Father) gave us recommendations to restaurants and drove my husband around the area upon our arrival to show us where to go. We especially enjoyed the bakery he showed us and there was a very cute restaurant with amazing Christmas decorations with delicious food that we really liked. Our host family had special treats they made for us and other items we enjoyed throughout our stay. We appreciated their friendliness and generous, kind attitude throughout our stay. We would highly recommend staying here! Enjoy Crete!

Wonderful Hosts

We loved our week in Crete. The hosts treated us like long-lost friends. They provided a very warm welcome meal, as well as treats and gifts throughout the week. We ate every meal on the balcony and waved to neighbors running and walking by. We appreciated the black-out shutters for sleeping, and the kitchen for cooking meals (since many restaurants were closing down at the end of the season). We were at the beach every day with our little one. We also went on a hike in a different gorge every day. We took advantage of the wonderful weather. The one thing I wish I could change is the flight path of the airplanes. Our little one loved seeing every plane pass right over the home, and happily there were not flights at night when we were sleeping. It seems to be a still developing area, since it is next to the old US Army Base. I could see this neighborhood being more built up in a few more years.

A lovely place we hope to return!

Our stay was absolutely lovely. The family were such gracious hosts from the welcome to our last day. They treated us like family in the best way—popping in with a special sweet or taking us to town to avoid an extra bus ride. The apartment was wonderful—beautifully decorated with the amenities of home. The town (Gouves) has all you would need and some wonderful restaurants. We can’t say enough about all the great food! The beach is visible from the porch which was so easy. For non beach days, getting into town was about 20 minutes and in town, the buses were easy. Heraklion had shopping, restaurants, and nice people. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property and what feels like our friends to everyone!

Great Condo

Beautiful 2 bedroom condo very close to the beach. The owners are very friendly and had baked a cake for our arrival and gave us fruit, rakhi and metaxa to enjoy during our stay. The local restaurant that the owners recommended - Ambrosia Tavern - was one of the best meals we had in Greece. Only negative was that they did not provide soap for the shower which does make bathing difficult.

You feel like family

My family and I just returned from our Greece trip. We are 3 adults and 2 children, ages 7 & 9. Crete was our second half of our trip. We wanted to stay somewhere centrally where we could travel from there. We ended up staying at Villa Eva. I LOVE this property! But first, let me describe our arrival to the property. It looks to be owned by a family (husband, wife, adult daughter.) We met the father and daughter at the aquarium closeby since it's difficult to find the property by just using the address. Once we arrived to the property we were greeted by the mother. The property is located close to the sea in an area that is not the most updated or modern. BUT, that didn't diminish our experience whatsoever. The property was beautiful. The mom had furnished and decorated it and it was lovely. The family were so excited to give us the grand tour. It really felt like we were family coming to visit. They even made food for us knowing that we had kids. There was a huge platter of ham and cheese sandwiches, an egg/ham "quiche", cake roll, two bottles of wine, limencello, and mom's homemade raki. The property is beautiful. The pictures are very accurate. The two bedrooms & common area are spacious. They had a cute balcony with a table where we had most of our dinners. There is even a yard next to the building meant for our use that had a dining table, several lounge chairs, and the cutest decorations! The kitchen area had plenty of items to help us with our dinners. The property is located very close to Heraklion (Iraklion) and the drive to Elounda was about an hour away. The neighborhood is very quiet. The parents live downstairs but only bothered us when they would bring up desserts that mom made for us. They were even kind enough to let us borrow their phone a couple of times. We were well taken care of! Our goodbye gift was the icing on the cake. This property was a wonderful place to stay. We would highly recommend it for anyone!

We stayed at Villa Eva for 3 days during Easter holiday and we were given a warm welcome by both George and his wife. We arrived quite late and they both greeted us with lots of goodies. The villa is clean and comfortable. Renting a car would be useful if trying to visit the main attractions in Heraklion. George was very helpful in getting us connected with a car rental company upon our arrival. Anastasia, his daughter, was very responsive to our requests and questions. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay.

Fantastic Crete property

We stayed three wonderful nights in April. The property is better than pictured and the owners are the best hosts ever! We were greeted with wine, cake and sandwiches and a complete orientation to the beautiful property. Comfortable bed; every kitchen amenity you can think of. The balconies and courtyard are wonderful places to relax after touring beautiful Crete all day. You can walk to the fabulous Tavern Ambrosia which is 0.7 mi away on the sea coast. There are NO negatives to this property. If we come back to Crete, we would not consider any other property except this one! Loved it!!

Wonderful accommodations!!

First thing - I have been booking off of VRBO for over 15 years, all over the US as well as S. America and Europe. This was the warmest, sweetest, most hospitable owners we have ever had!! Close to the last minute, my husband’s parents decided to join us and Eva and George were lovely about the alteration. The villa is a little removed from the bustle of the city and is in an up-and-coming area but we felt very safe and enjoyed walking the nearby beach as well as eating at a nearby taverna. So much was accessible from here too!! We saw Knossos Palace, the museums of Heraklion, spent a day in Chania, and saw the Malia ruins. The villa itself is incredibly elegant with an attached garden that was just beautiful. Thank you so much for your hospitality Eva and George!!

Previous reviews cover so many of the positives about holidaying here, all we can add is that if you are looking for a spotlessly clean and modern apartment with a warm and welcoming couple who make your holiday a bit more special,this is the place to stay. Great apartment, well located near sandy beach and amazingly nice owners: the place to go to!

As a family with two children, we stayed for 10 days in the 2-bedroom apartment of Villa Eva 2. The apartment is nicely furnished with taste but with a nice home feeling, the kitchen is fully equipped, beds were good, the air conditioning (in each bedroom and living room) helped keep the temperature at a pleasant level at night. There is a nice sandy beach at less than 100m to spend a relaxing day as it is only visited by locals (mainly on weekends) and few tourists. Perfectly located also for an early swim in the morning or late jump in the water at sunset after a long day visiting the beautiful surroundings and archeological sites. This would be enough for me to recommend the apartment with 5+ stars but the family who owns the place took really wonderful care of us. The communication with Anastasia before we arrived was always nice, helpful, precise and very fast! George gave us many tips about the area, gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, local car rental and places to go to. He drove us around the first day to show us the local supermarket, bakery and his best pick of restaurants. Finally, Eva cooked wonderful pastries and cakes for us that are worth the trip on their own... Many thanks for making these vacations such a memorable time for us. The apartment is spacious, neat and tastefully appointed. It has a view of the sea to the East from the front verandah, and over the neighbouring garden to the West from the back balcony. All rooms have air-conditioning and strong wifi internet throughout. There are two double bedrooms which are light and airy and a good bathroom. The sitting/dining room/kitchen is open plan. The kitchen is fully equipped with a modern electric hob, oven, toast/panini maker, coffee maker and a good array of cutlery, crockery and food preparing things. It also has a washing machine and dishwasher. The area is quiet residential, with mainly mid to higher end villas and apartments. 3 or 4 small yellow sand beaches, popular with local families as well as tourists, are within 10 minutes walk. These are generally calm with clean water and sand, good for swimming and paddling on most days, the bathers predominantly decently dressed. The sunrises and sunsets are phenomenal. Two well-stocked mini-markets, a bakery and a butcher's shop are within about a 15 minute walk. The nearest mini-market and a number of seafront tavernas are a 10 minute walk. It is not absolutely necessary to have a car or bicycle, but these can be hired from several nearby outlets and would broaden your experience of the island. The owners are a professional couple, Eva and her husband George. They are ably assisted by their daughter, Anastasia, and son. They were all extremely helpful and welcoming. They ensured the taxi-driver from the airport took us straight to the correct address, and welcomed us with a beautiful 'welcome pack' of home cooked food, fruits, wine and other useful and lovely things. During our stay Eva shared food with us that she had cooked - all delicious and beautifully presented. They live on the complex, as they also have the apartment above this property and a couple of apartments next door. They maintain a discrete but non-intrusive presence, ready to help as required. We found the owners utterly dependable as well as delightful hosts. We were very happy to have hired this property would stay here again.

Beautiful apartment.

We had a lovely stay in the beautiful modern apartment, that provided all the facilities we needed for our holiday. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing lovely food and refreshments on our late arrival. Throughout our stay they surprised us with wonderfully prepared dishes and were extremely helpful with offers of transport to local facilities. Exceptional hosts!!!

Fantastic 3 weeks in Villa Eva!

That was one of the greatest holidays we've ever had with my Family. Great, cozy and convenient apartment with all necessary things at your hand. Fantastic place with 1 minute walk to sandy and not overcrowded beach, convenient infrastructure (restaurants, shops), great historical places to see around if you take a drive. And wonderful and hospitable hosts with whom you suddenly feel like home with a bigger Family. We already miss them and would love to come back one day!

Greek Hospitality at its best

Perfect week at Villa Eva 2. The flat is very comfortable, clean and well maintained. It is a great base - beach, shops and restaurants within walking distance but in a quiet area, far from the maddening crowds. Good car rental around the corner. The perfect holiday. The best thing about staying at Villa Eva is the family that own this property, they are so warm and hospitable. Eva is a great cook and is very generous in looking after her guests despite her busy work schedule. I can not recommend this place highly enough, we will be back. Thank you to Eva and her lovely family.

amazing place

I had a wonderfull time and I can say that I enjoyed more my holidays in crete thanks to these apartments.. The location is brilliant, not far away from the center of the city and rather to close to the highway which gives you the opportunity to visit other cities and villages of this island. All of the appartments are new and spacious, especially our apartment was really clean and our beds were really comfortable. Our bedroom was really cosy with modern style and it made us feel like home. Generally, the apartment had all the comforts and nothing disappointed us during our vacation. Apart from that, the great hospitality and the welcoming environment throughout our vacation inspired us to come back again this season. Overall, I totally recommend it without any hesitation for an unforgettable and relaxing experience on your holidays.
