An enjoyable stay inside a "step back in time" hotel, dressed up from a time long gone. Great staff, nice breakfast, in a very cosy environment, though I'd have preferred slight softer pillows.

Very interesting hotel. I loved the way they foster reading by offering books to customers. I got my book home and looking forward to read it. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are amazing. Staff is very helpfull. Looking forward to use the spa next time. Unfortunately I did not had enough time due to the short stay.

This hotel is large enough to have most amenities and small enough to be homey and quaint. Absolutely loved the parlor and library feel in the main building. Be aware, though, that many of the rooms are in buildings across the street and accessible only by stairs.

Detta Ă€r ett ”good-enough hotell” med toppenlĂ€ge mitt i centrum. Vi har bott hĂ€r tre gĂ„nger och kommer sĂ€kert bo hĂ€r fler gĂ„nger. Varje gĂ„ng blir jag tyvĂ€rr lika arg pĂ„ mig sjĂ€lv nĂ€r jag glömt mitt eget schampo och balsam hemma, eftersom hotellets gratisgrejor kĂ€nns som att tvĂ€tta hĂ„ret med diskmedel (tvĂ„l och schampo i ett). De borde vĂ€l Ă€ndĂ„ kunna köpa in lite balsam för det priset man betalar tycker jag - och dĂ„ brukar detta vara ett av de mer ”prisvĂ€rda” alternativen i Varberg och sĂ€rskilt om man jĂ€mför med storasyster hotell Havanna som Ă€ndĂ„ mest har fullbokat. Vi brukar annars trivas bra pĂ„ hotellet Fregatten (tips!), men de har tyvĂ€rr sĂ€mre frukost. Frukosten pĂ„ GĂ€stis Ă€r nĂ€mligen helt okej, men lĂ„ngt frĂ„n outstanding - fast de fĂ„r extra plus för den goda omeletten. Alla hotellets smĂ„ olika inredningsdetaljer, i bĂ„de rum och allmĂ€nna utrymmen, Ă€r kul att titta pĂ„ men bidrar med en gammal doft överallt. Det kĂ€nns lite som att man bor i en secondhand-butik. Hotellets egen öl Ă€r god (jag brukar ta deras pale ale) och alla i personalen Ă€r vĂ€ldigt trevliga. TyvĂ€rr har vi Ă€nnu inte provat deras spa men vi har hört att det ska vara vĂ€ldigt mysigt, sĂ„ det fĂ„r det bli nĂ€sta gĂ„ng. PĂ„ det stora hela sĂ„ Ă€r alltsĂ„ hotellet tillrĂ€ckligt bra för att vi ska Ă„terkomma, men GĂ€stis förtjĂ€nar inte betyget ”superbt!” direkt utan Ă€r vĂ€ldigt lĂ„ngt dĂ€rifrĂ„n.
