A top place to check out in Costa Brava includes the pulsating Lloret de Mar, famous for its pretty beaches, numerous water sports, exciting casinos, and a wild, fun-filled night scene. If you fancy a quieter time, head to Tossa de Mar. It boasts a spectacular coastline, charming cobbled streets, medieval ruins, and a more relaxing atmosphere. Very much a traditional fishing town, Tossa de Mar has not seen as much development as other parts of Costa Brava, and offers a truly authentic Spanish holiday – but shhh! Don’t tell everyone!

Girona is perfect for culture vultures, with an old city filled with character and a lively Jewish Quarter, and you can find your inner artist as you admire the works in Cadaques’ Dali Museum. Cadaques is also an excellent starting point for diving trips to the attractive Medes Islands. To see a traditional and pretty fishing town, head to Calella de Palafrugell and enjoy some freshly caught seafood with a glass of the finest Spanish wine. Don’t forget that vibrant Barcelona is within easy reach of Costa Brava, where you can admire Gaudi’s architectural masterpieces and live the high life in a truly cosmopolitan city.
