We were surprised to hear that we were being charged $15 parking even though we didn't notice anything like that when we paid through travelocity. We checked travelocity later to see how we missed that and sure enough, if you click into the site deep enough, you'll find the $16.46 parking fee (with tax), despite the travelocity website also saying "the price you see is the price you pay". We've been visiting Gatlinburg regularly for about 4 decades, and have never paid a parking fee at any of the several hotels where we've stayed. I guess we'll pay closer attention and watch out for shrewd tactics. We would never have booked had we known about the parking fee. Otherwise, the staff was helpful, courteous, and professional. The room was clean. Please note that when we go straight to the hotel's info through google, the "hotel amenities" link states "parking free") but that's google's synopsis, I guess, for which the hotel is "not responsible". We later looked at some of the "reviews" and saw that a NUMBER of people have complained about the surprise "PARKING" FEE! I guess it's our own stupid fault for not looking at reviews. This won't happen to us again so easily.
