Updated October 2026 for the fall season
Wake up to the water at The Little House on Gardner Lake, just off I-35 and 30 minutes from KC. Greet the sunrise with warm coffee on the deck, paddle the kayaks across still water, and end each day with a sunset by the fire pit. Even with a breeze or a chill in the air, fall at the lake is cozy and beautiful.
Gardner Lake is your backyard. Walk out to your private dock, bring your boat to launch or dry-dock it on site, and watch the herons glide across a still morning lake.
Inside, this remodeled cottage sleeps six: two bedrooms with queen beds, plus a queen sleeper sofa in the light-filled living room. The kitchen is stocked for everything from morning coffee at the built-in coffee bar to a lakeside dinner, and the single bath keeps everyone refreshed. Central heat and air keep it just right year-round.
Fall is a favorite season at the lake. Anglers, bring your rods and enjoy quiet mornings on the water as the leaves turn. Hunters, this is a cozy, easy home base during hunting season, with quick access to I-35 and a warm place to come back to at the end of the day.
Evenings are the magic here. Gather at the gas fire pit on the deck, or build a real campfire at the wood-burning pit down by the water. Wrap up in a blanket, watch the sunset, and look up at a sky full of stars. The Little House invites you to slow down and stay a while.
Bring your boat. Bring your people. The lake is waiting.
