Nice overall, but cold room

Other than my room, the hotel was really nice. The conference rooms were comfortable. The pool areas and beach were beautiful. My room was just ok. I could see a gap at the bottom of the door. Fortunately, I didn't see any bugs entering the room. There was a stain on one of the towels. I was cold every night, though. I'm from the desert, so I was not happy that the heat could not be turned up past 75 degrees.

The Island Resort, Look at this review!!!

I highly recommend The Island Resort. Plenty for adults and children to here as well as within walking distance. Restaurants, an awesome pier with great dolphin views. Theres the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park within walking distance too. Tf you plan a trip in the busy time of summer then you will love this place. No need to get out in traffic. Plenty to do without driving anywhere. Check it out yourself, look what next door. Oh and the beach. WOW I cant tell you how beautiful the water is. And the white sand. And if you have young kids, they will love the mermaid in the pool here. Top destination for cost as well as convenience.

Great property. Older but updated and very clean. The staff were professional and pleasant. The room was clean and view of the Gulf was amazing! Ate breakfast at the restaurant and the food was fresh and tasty. Location was wonderful too. Would stay there again. Only negative was the loud AC on the balcony.

The Island was great! Everything you needed was accessible with walking distance. The staff were friendly! The rooms were simple and clean! The beach was beautiful. I do wish that the beach chairs and umbrellas were free for hotel guests. Otherwise no complaints.

Property and staff were both excellent. Pool and beach were amazing. Nice little boardwalk a short way along the beach. Close enough to Destin for a quick uber ride.

Great location nice resort, some cons the parking is addition to pay and the beach chair and umbrellas are an addition as well for the cost of the stay it should be included

Me and my mother LOVED staying here! It was so clean, so quiet, and so charming! We loved how everything was so connected and there’s SO MUCH to do on the property, between dining options, beach access, and the pools. 10/10 would stay here again!

The property was beautiful and had a lot to offer in the amenities. The location was perfect and the beach was stunning and clean. The staff outside at the beach hut were super friendly and earned every bit of their tip. My 4 star for cleanliness and staff was simply because housekeeping didn't come until late in the afternoon/early evening. Came in while I was in the shower - no one else in my room at the time. Made one bed, left no clean towels on the bed and didn't sweep the floors or take out our trash. They knocked on the bathroom door while I was showering to let me know they were there. I thought it was my daugther being silly. I got out the shower about 10 minutes later and walked out in my towel to find them in my room, and the door to the hallway open. Maybe they left quickly, because of the situation, but felt a bit violated and thought perhaps it wouldn't be customary to be in a room while someone is showering. I kind of thought they'd excuse themselves and come back to finish. We stayed 3 nights. They only came to our room once.

Amazing place to stay! Wonderfully equipped for fun all day! Location on the beach! Amenities! Staff was very friendly!! Definitely revisiting in the future! Oh and my son ate at the food truck daily!

Parking wasnt very close to our room. Didnt appreciate being on the 2nd floor. Pools were freezing, except for the heated pool- which was great. Bars were conveniently close by the pools. Room service was efficient every day, and made sure the room was up to par. The property was beautiful and clean.

Pros: The resort was beautiful. The grounds were georgous. Rooms were very clean and staff kept them very tidy. Very close to restaurants, activities and the pier. Cons: No storage for clothing, we had to love out of our suitcases. Also no kitchenette so had to eat out every meal.There was not much adult entertainment during the week. We were there Sat-Thurs. Seemed like enterainment goes on mainly on weekends. 1 hot tub but full at all times and about 110 degrees. Games were suppose to be outside but there were only a couple and 1 was broke.
