The Folly is our home away from home, the perfect place to relax in comfort and style and enjoy all the area has to offer. Green Point is surrounded by Booti Booti National Park, is situated on the beautiful Wallis Lake and close to many stunning beaches within easy driving distance. The Barrington Coast boasts some of the best beaches in the world which are perfect for either surfing and/or swimming. There is a beach to suit all the family! Bring your fishing gear and fish at the bottom of the property or, as there are two kayaks provided, you can fish while paddling around the Lake. Small boats can be beached in front of the property. The ‘armchair’ views of the Lake from the Folly and the spectacular sunsets might see you not leaving the property but there are a lot of activities in the area to satisfy you and your family’s needs. On a clear night the stars are quite magnificent in this area as there is no light pollution to interrupt the star gazing. 10 minutes will see you at the local shopping mall with Woolworths, Coles and Aldi and 15 minutes into Forster/Tuncurry for more shopping, eating and drinking! There is also a movie theatre which shows the latest movies. Forster boasts one of the best locations on the NSW coast for dolphin and whale watching during their annual migration. Bird watching is also a popular local pastime given the variety of natural habitats in the area. As illustrated in the photos, the Folly is: A modern, architecturally designed home with floor to ceiling glass windows facing the lake and blue gum wood floors throughout. The main floor has large open plan living area, dining table with seating for 10, lounge area with stereo system, iPod dock, flat screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen and a Weber gas BBQ (in a separate area outside the back door). On this floor there is one large bedroom (queen bed, ensuite, built in wardrobes, ceiling fan) with sliding doors onto the balcony.
There are also two other bedrooms (double beds, built in wardrobes, ceiling fans). A separate shower room & toilet is adjacent to these bedrooms. There is a deck with outdoor furniture, table and chairs for eating al fresco, and plenty of books to read for those down-time moments.
On the floor below is another bedroom we call the ‘bunk room’. It has two single beds and one set of bunks, ideal for children or for friends that want to share. There is also the laundry room with Miele washing machine, a clothes dryer, shower and toilet.
A second deck, a pool table, a flat screen TV, a DVD player complete with a number of DVD’s, and a number of games and puzzles for your use, complete this area.
There is a level enclosed backyard and beyond the gate are stairs and a path that lead down to the lake front where the kayaks are stored.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need for that gourmet meal or BBQ. In the larder you will find basic condiments and a few food items, please feel free to use these. There is a water filter, although the tap water here is of top quality and perfectly drinkable.
There is also a table tennis table (bats/balls supplied), a dart board (supply your own darts) plus a few water sports items (some left by previous guests) in a room adjacent to the BBQ. Please use with fun and care.
This property is situated in a quiet residential area and is not suitable for groups seeking to party, school leavers or schoolies. It is the peace and tranquillity of the area that will make this the most memorable holiday.
