The Masked Owl Retreat is a commercial Events and Accommodation building. Staying at The Masked Owl Retreat offers the perfect balance of boutique accommodation and the warmth of home, all nestled amongst the breathtaking beauty of the Otway Forest. Wake to the sounds of nature, unwind in peaceful surroundings, and enjoy a relaxing escape where comfort, tranquillity, and connection come together. Enjoy the splendid view into the trees from the 60 sqm Balcony as you take in the local bird life.

The property features 5 bedrooms, two separate bathrooms and one ensuite attached to the upstairs bedroom which is wheelchair accessible. The upstairs of the building (on the level of the car park) is fully wheelchair accessible with parking directly out the front of the building. Downstairs has a small lounge area and the additional 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The upstairs includes 3 toilets, a large 80 sqm living area, a large meal cental serving area with at double group head coffee machine at one end. There is also a commercial kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob and large fridge and freezer.

The on site manager will you instruct you how to use the equipment on your arrival.

The Retreat Shares the site with a 2 - bedroom Cottage and a Managers building. The Cottage can also be booked from this site.

The grounds are 2.4 acres and mostly covered in Native Bush with tall Stringy Bark Trees but includes fern trees and many other plant species.

The Forrest MTB trailhead is directly opposite. This has bump tracks and MTB skills sections. It is also the start of all the trails around Forrest.

If you don't ride you can enjoy the beauty of the town and surround Forrest by walks that start at the property. These include the Ferny Gully Trail, and the walk along the park land of the West Barwon river. You can combine the two to end in the Forrest Town Centre. Via the Road the Town Centre is 45 mins walk.

Within 1/2 drive you have access to the Stevensons Falls and the Sabine Falls. Within an hours drive there are another 4 waterfalls you can visit as you head toward the town of Beach Forest. The drive itself is beautiful.

The Great Ocean Rd is 24 mins drive towards the coast. You meet and coast at Skenes Creek. A further 5 mins will get you to Apollo Bay.

In town the Forrest Brewery offers local craft beer and excellent meals. Except in the winter months it is open Thursday through Monday for Breakfast and Lunch and its open Friday and Saturday Night for Dinner. There is also the Forrest General Store and the Bower Bird Cafe.
