Comfortable room & bed. Well run function that we attended. Good choice at breakfast. Would prefer butter & jams to be served in individual pots rather than as a big block of butter to cut off or open pots of jam. Quite a small car park that fills up quickly.

Housekeeping let you down.

Everything was going so well until I was rudely woken up with the housekeeping staff talking loudly on the corridor early on Sunday morning before 9 a.m. about how much they are overlooked in their jobs and ‘sales mess up all the time and we end up having to clean more than we do’. (It was more profanity then this but I’ve been asked to edit) They then proceeded to enter my room without knocking whilst there was a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door! And hoover the hallway! If I’d had the time to speak to the manager on check out, I would have, but I did not have enough time to catch somebody before my train back home. I urge the management to address this issue by emphasising the importance of staff members treating guests with respect and consideration. The current behaviour of the housekeeping staff appears to disregard the well-being of the guests in the building, which is unacceptable.

Mercure

Stay here normally once a month. The hotel has recently been regurbished and changed hands and some good. Rooms are clean and in good condition. You now have to pay for all parking where a previously this was included if you booked a superior room. Breakfast good choice at the buffet. Food ok although the menu could do with a change as has been the same for the last couple if years.

Privileged to be cold on 7th floor

Very cold on arrival .. heater able to heat where the heater was and not much further leaving the bathroom cold and the bed and sleeping conditions cold … staff did try to change the settings but not effective .. have stayed here a number of times but probably won’t stay here again especially if it’s cold … top tip don’t stay on the 7th floor the privilege appears to be being cold
