Front desk English skills were a bit limited, but the entire staff was exceptionally friendly, even in the midst of hosting a large Spain cultural event. Rooms in excellent shape. AC worked, even in a super heat wave, but we couldn’t figure out why they kept automatically turning off at midnight. Charming, walkable small town, with lots of live music. Awesome.

Extreme dissapointment

Made the reservation for my wife as she was driving across France and wasn't sure when she would need to sleep. I wasn't able to confirm any details by calling the property because of a language barrier but that didn't bother me because my wife is French and speaks natively. The demeanor of the lady checking my wife in was beyond a Parisian cold. Given what my wife has explained she was just rude. And my wife is someone who never likes to complain about customer service. The coup de gras was her being asked to pay the next morning after I had already paid. My wife thought I had paid on the website but she is not confrontational. Overall, there is another hotel chain in France that shares the name of a bird. I would highly recommend you go there. For the same price you will receive the same accomodations but with kinder service. But I must admit there was a lady the next day that we spoke to, Julie, who was very kind. Yet, I will never reserve another room there. In case the staff would like to reply and say this has to do with the restaurant being closed on Sunday, it does not. While we were surprised that it was closed we were prepared and I found my wife a place close by she could stop for a takeaway salad before she arrived at the hotel. Yet I do wonder how your guests eat on a Sunday. If it is as ridiculous as your scoff implied then all restaurants must be closed on Sunday and of course they aren't. Train your people to have some manners. Teach them, no customers, no job

We just loved this hotel. The service was great, the room was enormous, dinner was fantastic and breakfast was fabulous. The hotel was warm, clean and modern. Additionally there was free parking. We will definitely choose this hotel again.

The Restaurant was shut on a sunday - ok but when we returned from visiting another restaurant elsewhere - the bar was also shut at 8.30 pm. This is very poor service in my book! On the plus side and to be fair to the hotel, the rooms were fine, it has good parking with electric charging points!

Perfect stopover.

As allways a plesure to stay at Nota Bene. The personnel is friendly and helpfull. The dinner was marvellous especially the foie gras and the escargots a la meurette. The coctail was again fantastic (very good bartender) and the local wine delicious. The breakfast is also tastefull . The room and bathroom small but beautiful.We keep coming back.

Lovely hotel

We stayed for the 3th time in 1 year in this hotel because we loved this quaint hotel at first sight. The personnel is great, the breakfast is delicious and the dinner always more then o.k.(the foie gras and a coctail with fresh berries were outstanding) All that at a reasonable price. The reason I gave not the maximumscore was that this time we had a very small room with a poor vieuw,a refrigerator not working,a coffeemachine with no coffeecups.. a fiew things we did not really needed and did not bother to change rooms ( we were very tired from our journey on the road). I am sure this was a one time situation as we intend to stay there again on our way home in 14 days.

A gem for a stopover

Amazing hotel with for us beautiful decors and pictures. Very good diner and breakfast. We liked it so much we decided to go back to this hotel on our way back from the Alps.If we are in the neighbourhoud we will be back.

This hotel wasn't so great. It wasn't horrible. It was just stuffy, not very clean and it didn't smell great. The staff was very nice and helpful so that was great. I did like the way you could order take away from a computer in the lobby.

A good’s Night sleep

We were traveling in late at night due to some other issues. The guest service rep did a great job helping us, very tired travelers find our room especially considering he didnt speak English and we didn’t speak French. Other staff was helpful to us in making best use of a very clean and modern room

The refurbishment is fantastic

A few of our friends stayed in the family area which is yet to be updated, so I cannot comment on that, but our room was newly refurbished and was excellent. A lovely little modern room, with a proper pod coffee maker and a very comfortable large double bed. The bathroom was superb! Bath, shower and gorgeous bathroom suite in general. Great location right in the centre of town (5 minute walking distance) with free parking and the breakfast was amazing! Fresh coffee and orange juice, teas, juices, cereals, fruit, cooked breakfast, continental breakfast with meats and cheeses, yoghurts and fresh pastries, as well as delicious cakes - honestly I think I put on half a stone in a weekend just from breakfast! The staff are very friendly and they have a lovely little bar with an outdoor seating area too. Lovely little place, albeit right on a road - not that you'd know from inside!

Nice, clean, friendly hotel

We stayed one night in the hotel on our way to the Alps for a skiing holiday to break the journey up. It was a lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly. It was nice to unwind and relax in the bar following a walk round the little town. We ended up eating in the hotel. The food was very nice and not too pricey either. The room was plenty big enough for three of us, a queen sized bed and two bunks. Very clean and tidy. Would recommend this hotel.
