Convenient location to all transportation. Walking distance to harbor, Brugge, castle, etc. AMAZING breakfast and for ~$10 you can make a lunch to take away.

We had booked on Expedia for 2 children’s and 2 adults. Children age was 12 and 17. At check in we were advised that 17 yr old is not child as per Scandic and we would have to pay extra charges. However I tried to make another booking infront of the staff meme we using 17 and 12 ages and the booking price was actually cheaper than what I had booked for. So in the end they honoured my original booking with out extra charges. Expedia should ensure the criteria for different hotels is reflected in their bookings

We enjoyed our stay at Scandic Ørnen, and our selections above reflect our satisfaction. Two things happened, one fairly minor, one of more importance to us. Minor - a male reception staff member had a lengthy conversation with a female who appeared to be a hotel customer. As I speak Norwegian, it was easy to determine this was not about hotel business. I stood nearby clearly waiting for my turn to ask a question that was about something related to customer service. After at least 5 minutes, I gave up. Important (to us) - lack of washcloths. We are accustomed to using washcloths, and had not previously encountered this. When we asked, we were offered additional hand towels. We took the towels, and made do. This policy flys in the face of Scandic’s stated concern for the environment, and causes your customers unnecessary inconvenience and a bit of embarrassment. At the very least, washcloths should be offered upon request.

Good location, clean but insufficient to comfort

Slow check-in as staff maintained room not paid for even though I’d pre- paid when I made the booking. Very small room, too small to be comfortable for two people. Too warm for sleeping and unable to cool room as no temperature controller. TV controller batteries were flat, had to go down to reception to change them. Not enough pillows - only one small, lumpy pillow provided for each person. Good breakfast, great location very close to main railway station.

The hotel is just a few min walk from the train station making it very convenient. There are other hotels closer to the harbor but we didn’t mind the location. My only complaint is if you have a family room, the pull-out couch bed could be much improved. The mattress was not comfortable. We did the breakfast one morning and it is worth it if you want a hearty spread to start your day. Very good.

Nice ground floor bar, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Restaurant seemingly closed. Room was in desperate need of some TLC, and shower facilities not great. I’m not convinced the bed is a king either. Convenient for train station, with a 15 minute walk to main tourist hotspots.

The location was very good (close to the bus station and train station). The room was clean, but it would be better if my room would not have been transparent from the lift area (my room location was facing the lift).

I took a taxi from the airport, which I thought was a sanctioned taxi service.. I asked before I got in if they accept credit cards which 95% of the companies in Bergen do but when the driver got to the hotel, I gave him my credit card and it was declined.. I gave him another credit card and it was declined.. I gave him a third credit card and it was declined so he asked for cash… I looked up to see what the charges should be based on Uber and it was $50. He told me the charges were $90 and he needed cash.. I said let’s go into the hotel and see what we can figure out… this man took my pack with credit cards, passport and cash.. when I refuse to pay him this way.. it turned into a brawl because I grabbed my backpack from this man as he’s trying to exit the Hotel and I had to get them to call the police..Sage witnessed this at the front desk and spoke to the police . The police offered to file a report against this man who is an immigrant from Eritrea/Ethiopia… I did not want to press charges because it was just a waste of time, but please do not take an unofficial sanction Taxi service, which is Bergen Taxi… they also have Uber… do not get it in any taxi at this airport unless you know where they come from!!
