Lovely pub and restaurant. Room lovely and clean but didn't need a disabled bathroom and extra lighting that was bright in room at night. Large family group staying next to us, who had early morning meeting in hallway and no soft closing doors so quite noisy. Staff excellent.

The barman was very friendly & hospitable. The room comfortable but pillows rock hard & unconfortable. The furniture in the upper bar area was ripped & torn and meals rather over priced (£20 for a beefburger). We booked the hotel attend a 25th Wedding Aniversary & on our return at 10.45pm expecting to get a nightcap drink the bar and reception were locked & in darkness. The main entrance was padlocked shut & a fire hazard. There were two staff members we asked to see if we could obtain a drink to which we received a resounding no. The hotel was full with many other guests attending the same event returning to no open bar. In the morning we raised the issues with the receptionist who just said we close the bar if theres no one in. A bit of nous should tell that if the hotels full people would be returning. Not a good experience

Room ok ,maybe carpet and beds next replacing (old) No hot water ,sink and shower cold water ,you could never have a bath . It was a first for me, breakfast, on the menu my wife asked for porridge and then a cooked breakfast to be advised she can only have one .Don't understand you can have cereal then hot breakfast. Otherwise nice stay , bar good , food good and staff friendly

Always clean, comfortable and staff are always very helpful. Breakfast could do with additional serving staff at times but otherwise absolutely no complaints!

We stayed to visit family who live locally, so spent very little time at the Hotel , just to sleep really. Check in was good, the young woman was efficient and helpful, and we were lucky to be able to check in early, thanks to the Housekeeper telling her it was ready. Room was comfortable, reasonably spacious, tea tray , nice bathroom etc as you'd expect, and all was spotlessly clean. We didn't use the bar or restaurant, but all areas looked very comfortable and tasteful. Would definitely recommend.

Good restaurant let down by overpriced poor hotel

For £120 I was expecting a top class hotel instead I had to hunt for my room which was located very close to a busy road and had no ventilation, relying on windows opening and hence letting traffic noise and pollution in. The kettle had a faulty switch and the facilities basic.I wanted porridge and scrambled egg for breakfast was told that a) they had no porridge and b) I wouldn't have been able to have it as well as the cooked breakfast. Evening meal was excellent though.
