Hotel is lovely. No sauna, despite the website!

The hotel is lovely. However they say on the website that they have a sauna. They do not have a sauna. Also, you are given the impression that you are staying in the big mansion, but actually you are billeted in the the annex/building in front of the big house. The rooms are modern and well appointed.

This hotel was amazing!! Very high end for the price! Vanessa was so helpful and friendly! Such a wonderful experience for 2 Americans visiting a foreign country. We were concerned about getting around and the language barrier but no issues at all. Surprisingly our reservation came with an hour in the spa and we used it soaking in the hot bath (jacuzzi without jets). The views were spectacular as well as breakfast. We didn’t want to leave!! This hotel is on our list to come back to if/when we return to France. Heartfelt thanks to Vanessa!!

Gorgeous views abound. Rooms were clean and comfortable, despite the heat. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had in Provence, making ample use of local alpine ingredients. It is also walking distance to old town Embrun, which was a nice touch.

Beautiful spot

From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly as were the beautiful dogs who greeted us. The room was spotlessly clean with an amazing view of the beach and sea. We would definitely recommend a stay here if you get a chance! Its the dream!

Lovely hotel by a charming little town!

It was pretty much as described, and for a 3-star hotel, it's not bad for the price. The biggest problem we had is the cigarette smokes that we constantly smell at night. Even though the room is non-smoking, it's either someone next to us was, or that we shared an air-intake with a smoking room. We literally had to close all doors (door to the bathroom, the locked door to the adjoining room, and the main door) and stuff towels at the bottom of the doors. If you mind the smell of cigarette smokes, maybe double check with the staff for a room that is REALLY free of cigarette smell! There is no fridge in the room, luckily it's winter for us so we just left our wine and cheese outside! The restaurant is pretty famous and if you didn't make a reservation you won't be able to get a table. And they don't do room service, and in the winter it's not that walkable to downtown, so make sure you make dinner plans ahead!

Stunning views, old style comfort

Hotel La Robéyère is situated about half a mile outside the centre of Embrun. I stayed for one night while following the Tour de France. The desk staff were friendly and allowed us to check in even though we arrived very early (very handy as I was unwell). The rooms at the back of the hotel offer beautiful views views over a valley with the Alps as a backdrop. The terrace is a good spot for a late night beer after a day exploring the town. Reception does not open until 7am at weekends so speak to the desk if you need to check out early morning.

Great hotel with great food

We stayed at this hotel for one night in March 2017 while visiting Embrun. We weren't sure what to expect for under 80 euros a night for a superior room but we can honestly say that pound for pound this is the best hotel we have stayed in. The pool and hot tub area are an another unexpected delight. The bubbles weren't working in the hot tub but this didn't really matter as it was still lovely and warm. They also have a sauna outside and a pool and steam room inside together with a small gym. We didn't have one but it looks like they do massages too. The hotel was lovely and quiet when we went. We were a bit dubious booking dinner at the hotel because we didn't think there were enough people staying there to make create any atmosphere in the restaurant but when we went for dinner it was really busy, it looks like people come and dine even if they aren't staying there. The restaurant itself is is in old brick cave looking room and it is very tastefully decorated. The food, service and surroundings in the restaurant were absolutely outstanding. We haven't had such good food for years and all for a very reasonable price. The wine was great too! We would go back for the food alone! The room was a great size with everything you needed, the views over the mountains were great as well. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, it really felt like a very personal hotel. It is about a 10 minute walk into Embrun.
