I was a late arrival and the staff had to close early due to a staffing shortage. I received a text message explaining the situation and that the manager would leave the key under the front mat. I arrived 45 minutes after close and the key was right where I expected it to be. She went above and beyond to make sure I had a room for the night!!!
Nice little independent motel. It was clean and comfortable. Parking was very strange, with several desirable parking spots impossible to get a car into without driving over a lawn/unpaved area or a curb. There was no hand soap. The office was closed when I got there at 9 PM, so the key was under the doormat. And the room temperature was set at 80 degrees! It was easily turned down to a reasonable temperature. I did sleep well there. The motel is being actively renovated, which may explain some of the strange ness. Even so, I liked the property and will stay there again on my next trip.

We always stay here on our way through. Staff is always top notch and it's a decent safe place to stay for the night
We stay here every year on our way to Elko, to the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering. It is always clean, quiet, warm, personable, and super convenient. The cost is always quite reasonable and our check in smooth. This is the best place in Ely.
Excellent staff. Older but updated and well maintained property. Very clean. Our room was next to busy highway and a bit noisy until traffic slowed. My biggest concern was a bit too much light coming through main window. Updated black out curtains would be great. They offer coffee, juice and some breakfast snacks in the morning that were much appreciated.

The tub was not wiped out properly.
The hot water in the room we stayed in on the 22nd wouldn't work properly.
Other than that we like the bristlecone.
We stayed for one night, and for the price you really can't beat it. The building is old but it looks like they are renovating some parts. The breakfast was simple but good. The only problem with our room was that there was no shower curtain--like someone removed the old one and forgot to put up a new one. I forgot to tell the person at the front desk when we checked out so check room 226!
