Welcome to Mallards Landing on Waneta Lake! Offering 4 bedrooms (plus additional sleeping space) and 2 ½ bathrooms! Great for families looking for a fun relaxing time at the lake! Many outdoor amenities including a dock, fire pit, multi-level deck and a hot tub to enjoy the beautiful lake views and amazing sunsets. We are also pet friendly!

Why we love Waneta Lake!
We enjoy the peaceful setting and all the wildlife. Whether it’s a Mallard, Heron, turtle, or a large fish, everyday there is something new to see! If you love to fish, Waneta is the perfect lake! There are so many species, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, muskies, yellow perch, bluegill, and many more!

Why we chose this cottage!
We were looking for a property large enough for our guests to enjoy their vacations with their extended families, multiple families, or larger groups of friends! We also love the location! It is so peaceful and relaxing but if you’re looking for fun Finger lakes experiences, the cottage is centrally located to Watkins Glen (13 miles away), Hammondsport (9 miles away), and Penn Yan (17 miles away). It is also very close to so many amazing wineries, restaurants, and distilleries, including Weis Vineyards, New York State’s Winery of the Year in 2022 (5.5 miles away) and The Switzerland Inn Restaurant (5.2 miles away)!

A little about us!
We are a husband-and-wife team who have managed The Lazy Loon Cottage on Keuka Lake for the last 4 years. We have had a great time hosting our guests over the years and we have decided to start a new venture on Waneta Lake!

What sets us apart?
We both were born and raised in the Finger Lakes area and love raising our 7 year old daughter here! We also feel it is important to share that we enjoy spending time at our rentals when we do not have guests. We were excited about Mallards Landing because it’s large enough for us to have our extended family all together in one house! What better way to ensure the best vacation for our guests than by living the same experience!

This cottage is great for vacationing during all four seasons. Central heating/ AC system for the entire cottage will keep you warm during your fall and winter stays and cool during the summer. Come spend the Fall at our cottage and enjoy the beautiful colorful fall leaves while wine tasting at all the local wineries, sipping your favorite microbrew at the many area breweries, or just relaxing. Mallards Landing Cottage is the perfect retreat for any season!

No Parties or gatherings. Only registered guests at the cottage. No guest owned or rental boats as our dock cannot accommodate boats.
Only 4 cars total parked on the right side of the driveway only. It is shared drive with our neighbor NO FIREWORKS!
Please put dirty dishes in dishwasher and start before you check out. There can be an extra $200 cleaning fee for excessive mess left behind.

Absolutely beautiful! Decorated very tastefully throughout. Every modern convenience you would need . Our hosts thought of everything for a wonderfully, relaxing lakeside experience. They checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed and would respond immediately with any questions. Would highly recommend this perfect property!!

July 4th Vacation on the Lake

I grew up spending the summers on Waneta with my extended family. This is a great spot to visit the lake. Host was engaged but not overly involved so you could enjoy the beautiful lakehouse. I would highly recommend this lakehouse.

Perfect getaway

Whether you want to just relax at lake and watch sunsets or see some of the best sights the Finger Lakes have to offer or both, this is an awesome choice. Sunsets from deck (or hot tub) were awesome. Beautifully furnished new house. But don't let the lack of reviews make you hesitate to book, these are clearly experienced hosts. Central location with easy drive to Watkins Glen waterfalls, Corning Glass Museum, and of course wineries. Home is better than advertised, for example, this house comfortablely sleeps 11 with a real bed for everyone (not a sleeper sofa of air mattress.) And the beds in the "living room" are actually in a loft that opens to a small sitting area not the main living room. Only thing to consider is this house is so new, if you love to cook, check with host first to see if they have what you need, e.g., extra large bakewear. Would definitely book again. Pp

A Finger Lakes lake-front experience as promised

1) This place has a great view and lives up to the pictures. The unimpeded lake views are very special. 2) Its very generously sized place and great for large families or multi-generational get togethers. 3) The design choices were both homey and upscale feeling like a 4 star hotel stay. 4) I wish we had a boat, but visiting from CA, made this not possible. This property with a boat would be amazing. For boat owners, this is a really attractive property. Swimming off the pier is possible, but with all the weeds my kids, who are used to swimming pools, couldn't get past it. Others may find it totally ok. Some neat surprises. 1) Queen beds (purple?) were very comfortable. 2) Well stocked coffee pods and left over condiments and pancake mix was really nice. 3) Spa was the most usable location we have experienced. Nice job! 4) BBQ was accessible and near the spa for good conversation while cooking. It is in a quiet neighborhood off the main road with other summer homes and year round folks and a good 15-20 minute drive from the super market (at least what our phones told us). We were able to visit Watkins Glen and the area very easily. I was able to throw ball with my kids in the front yard as well. Overall, a good experience.
