This is a grand old school Dubai hotel, quite large, and full of marble. Generally, its quite nice. Huge fancy lobby and common areas are nice. Most importantly, it has one of the best hotel gyms you'll find in Dubai, open 24 hours. Some serious weaknesses as well. I've stayed in a couple different rooms, and both had very weak water pressure. For this kind of money, that's inexcusable. Weak showers and even weak when flushing the toilet. Also, you can hear each time the toilet flushes in the room above you. But the location right next to the mall is great and very convenient, staff is good, although the front desk staff is not particurlarly friendly, and the guests are upscale. One final weak point is the pool area is treated as a party venue, which is fine if you like that sort of thing, but not if you want a quiet retreat. On Sundays they have a very loud singer and its full on adult frat party in Dubai.

The pool and pool bar are owned and managed by a third party. It's quite embarrasing to be refused service if you ask them to charge them the room . You have to end up walking around with a wallet while going to swim
