Maison du Lac - Villa with pool located next to Lac d'Annecy

The villa is situated at the south end of Lac d'Annecy at Bout du Lac close to Doussard and is available for rental most of the year.
There are 5 bedrooms – 3 doubles (one downstairs with an en suite bathroom) and two twin. This provides capacity for 10 people. Two of the upstairs bedrooms share a front balcony and have a good view of the lake. There is a large veranda on the front of the house, to enjoy the best of the lake and mountain views. The lounge is equipped with UK and French TV and Home Theatre System.
The 8 X 4m covered swimming pool usually runs at 26 to 28 deg in the summer and is available from May to October. The large terrace has the sun all day. There is a large garden and spacious parking inside the property which accommodates 6 cars and a boat.
Although the area is renowned for its scenic views, there is the possibility to pursue many sporting activities. These include a range of water sports on Lake Annecy including water ski-ing, wake-boarding, sailing (with special classes for juniors to learn sailing), rowing etc. Within 10 minutes walking there are beaches and the harbour where ski boats can be moored. Typical cost for mooring, gate entrance pass and car parking sticker is 85 Euro per week and can be reserved in weekly block's Saturday to Saturday.
A cycle path runs behind the house which runs directly into Annecy and has now been extended to circuit the lake. For the more adventurous there are road routes within easy reach which are used for the Tour de France.
Please note that the house is strictly non-smoking and pets are not allowed. Groups of family/friends are welcome but we do not cater for groups of young adults. A party size greater than 10 people including children is only by prior agreement. In that case, a further double bedroom can be provided. The property is secured by a Verisure alarm system.
The property is not adapted for the needs of disabled people.

A really excellent house in a fantastic location. The accommodation was perfect for us and included everything we needed for our comfort. And provided us with an incredible view on all sides. It was great to explore Lake Annecy from Dossard which provided a relaxed base for us to plan our adventures. Wonderful house

Everything you could want from a holiday covering a wide age range! The house was amazingly well provided with kitchen stuff, the pool was amazing and used by everyone, the location was ideal for cycling, walking, running or just sitting on the patio watching the hang gliders. Things not to miss - Semnoz for the views of Mont Blanc and the luge, a meal at Chalet Pricaz, pedalos on the lake. A memorable holiday in a memorable house. Thanks David and Renée.

A perfect family holiday home

We had a wonderful week staying at this property absolutely no issues. House was very clean and had a superb equipped kitchen. As we were there in very hot weather the only thing we could have done with was more fans in the bedrooms but at least the children had fans. If heatwaves are going to occur more often this would be the only suggestion we would have. Property suited everyone we loved the pool and also the lake which was so close. Also the variety of places to visit in the area was fantastic. David was extremely helpful if we ever needed anything.

We really enjoyed our stay in Lake Annecy. David and Renée were always on hand if needed for advice or recommendations. The property is well equipped with a lovely kitchen and great pool. The house has wonderful views of the mountains and the cycle path is just behind the house. We hope to stay again soon!

Perfect base for exploring Annecy!!

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Annecy as a family/group then look no further! The whole villa is fantastic and the views are stunning. Everything has been thought about here, from the very well stocked kitchen with every utensil you can think of, to the organisation of everything! The pool area is perfect for families and soaking up the sun. 3 or 4 restaurants are within easy walking distance and a bus stop at the bottom of the road takes you into Annecy within 30 mins. The owners really take pride in this property, it was spotlessly clean and so well taken care of. If you read this review and are thinking of booking, please do - you won’t regret it!

Fantastic house

Definitely the best equipped holiday house we’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful location, great views over the Lake and 10-15 min walk to the beach and shop. Very clean and tidy and with the owners next door any questions were quickly answered. We were a group of 2 families and it was perfect for us.

Beautiful house in a beautiful place

We had a fabulous time in Maison du Lac. David and Renee were welcoming hosts and made themselves available without being intrusive. The house was very well equipped with exceptional communal areas on the ground floor. The pool was fantastic and the terrace was where we spent most of our time, relaxing on the sun loungers, dipping in the pool and eating outside. The local restaurants are easily accessible and very good although we preferred preparing food and eating in. We really loved this house and our holiday together. The views of the lake and the parapentes hovering above, framed by the mountains, were all breathtakingly beautiful. We would like to come back.

Beautiful view on the lake, warm welcome from Dave and Renee really concerned by their guests. The house is clean, comfortable, simply decorated but with all you need to feel like home, 2 big fridges, cleaning material to comply with COVID rules and a pleasant ping-pong table, sunbeds for everyone and a very clean swimming-pool, a big garden and an electric gate. We took all the meals on the big terrace in the shadow of the large solar tent. The description on the site reflects the reality. A very good adress to enjoy holidays in the quite area of Bout-du-Lac ! Thank you Dave and Renee :)

Fantastic holiday by a beautiful lake.

We had a wonderful holiday . One of the best ever. The lake and property were an ideal location for us. The scenery is beautiful the pool was ideal. We spent the week in the pool and on the lake. The boat ride to Annecy from port Doussard is a must. It is one of the most beautiful areas of France. I wholeheartedly recommend this property and it’s location. We have had some good holidays but this one rated as the best ever. Thank you David and Renee. This holiday will remain in our memory.

Simply put, Wonderful!!

The photos of this house on the listing can't possibly give you the real feel of just how amazing everything is! Being able to sit on the terrace and gaze at the view, is just wonderful! The house has everything you could possibly need, more like staying at a well stocked friend’s home, then a holiday rental! We had two young children with us as well as two grandad’s in their seventies and others in between and the house worked for everyone and although I have no desire to watch tv on holiday, the English channels were a real bonus for our sun-shy grandad, who could hide in the relative cool and watch horse racing when things got a bit warm outside. We had unusually hot weather every day, which was perfect for me and to be able to cool off in the lovely pool at any time, was wonderful. It was nice to be able to walk to the beach close by and rent paddle boards and pedaloes and have lunch by the lake. The water bus is also caught from the beach so it’s not necessary to take the car into Annecy, if you’d rather not. An all round excellent home from home, with kind & friendly owners living next door, easily contactable if there were any questions. We were all very sad to wake up in our own homes without the beautiful views and sunshine! I can highly recommend! Thank you for a wonderful, memory making holiday!

Excellent house for family holiday, close to the lake with excellent pool and scenic views

The house was a great choice for our family holiday with our 2 daughters and their husbands/partners and 4 young grandchildren. The owners David and Renee live in the adjacent property and are very friendly and helpful. The house is only a short walk to the lake for launching canoes/paddle boards which could then be paddled to the public beach - which is a 10-15 minute walk away. The pool was great fun for the family and extensively used during our stay - the sliding cover meant it was warm enough to use in late May. The large patio (with sliding sun canopy) and many windows in the conservatory-style dining area facilitated enjoyment of the superb lake and mountain views. The bike path runs by the back of the house and we enjoyed riding with the children to/from the boulangerie at Doussard most mornings. We used the table tennis most evenings - an unexpected bonus. We usually cooked evening meals on the patio barbecue, after overcoming an initial problem of finding somewhere to exchange the empty gas cylinder on a Sunday. I feel sure David will make arrangements to ensure that problem is a one-off . We also enjoyed very good takeaway pizzas from Bob's Pizza which is a short drive away. Overall, a very good, well-equipped family house in an excellent location close to the lake. We would certainly try to rebook for any future family holiday in this lovely area.

A villa of good proportions with stunning views of the mountains all around and the lake.

We were two families staying for a fortnight in this great villa. Dave and Renée were very welcoming hosts and always around to support and answer any questions. The pool was loved by our boys as was the sunroom for games, relaxing and table tennis. The setting of the house is tremendous with the sun rising over Col de la Fauclaz and then bathing the house all day and into the evening. The location is ideal for exploring any beaches and villages around the lake and backs onto the cycle path which can take you directly north to Annecy or south all the way down the valley to Albertville. Within just a few minutes walk or short cycle are beaches, numerous locations for bicycle hire and a range of cafes and bars. The sailing and general water sports centre is located nearby and there is a major parapente landing site also just a few minutes by bike to the south near the village of Doussard. We had a terrific two weeks here and would highly recommend this home for an active family holiday beside one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe. Thank you again to David and Renée for being such great hosts.

Family home with fabulous views

Our family of ten, 4 children aged 7 yrs to 6 months, and 6 attending adults, enjoyed a wonderful week in this property. There was plenty of space for us all. The outdoor pool area is particularly good and the water was much used during a hot week. When we could drag ourselves away, we managed to visit the beautiful area by boat, chair lift and bicycle. There was far more to do but we only had a week. We hope to make a return visit.

Three generations of one family that have holidayed at Lake Annecy before. We never tire of the area and this villa was brilliant for our needs. Plenty of room, a great pool, the bonus of table tennis to keep the men and kids out of mischief into the evening and walking distance to the most beautiful lake in the world (in our opinion)

great location with everything we needed

the house is in the perfect location very near the lake which was perfect for us. there were 8 of of and we all had a great time , the days out visiting different place were brilliant. we even were able to hire bikes from the owners of the house and cycle in to Annecy on the cycle path that was brilliant. we moored a Ski boat in the local marina but i would recommend you do launch and retrieve really, the marina is not helpful at all. Dave and Renee were great they even dropped us off some fresh cherries of which were lovely. i would recommend this place as it just ticks all the boxes. Lovely position near the lake with amazing views

The villa was in a prime position with break taking views over Lake Annecy. It was a spacious villa, with a lovely conservatory overlooking the lake and a great swimming pool! The kids loved this the best, even when it rained they could still go in because of the cover. The area was well located near the cycle path and we hired bikes from the owner, we found the cycle path safe for our children and enjoyed couple of outings around the lakeside. Nearby is a campsite and they had a free bus service to a local mountain range, we visited this and had a great day involving ourselves with activities such as the luge and air Bag! The weather was varied, but this is to be expected near the mountains. If you want an action packed holiday with amazing scenery this is the place to visit. Would definitely visit again.

Even better than it looks!

We all know that pictures sometimes lie. In this case, the reality is even better than the pictures. This house is amazing. Everything is neat, in proper working condition, clean, and easy to keep clean. The owners have outdoor furniture that allows you to eat every meal outside, which we did. The pool is a great feature for the kids and can be closed in case of bad weather or cool breezes. The views from the grounds are amazing, and it is walking distance to the lake (note: it is not really walking distance to the beaches but it is biking distance to the closest beach). We drove to the beach in Doussard and the beach in Talloires. The bike path is directly behind the house so bring or rent bikes. The market is close by, as is downtown Doussard where there was an outdoor market on certain days. The location of this house is great and allowed us to do many different things including biking, hiking, swimming, and paddle boarding. This house was a little more expensive than some of the other Annecy listings we looked at, but we believe it was well worth the money we spent. We highly recommend this rental property, especially if you have children who love to swim.

Lovely house, lovely area. We will be back

Large house plenty of space and rooms, we had 6 people in total, myself and wife along with 4 young adults. Lovely terrace that links the house to the pool which is closed or can be opened if weather permits. Ideal location with just a short walk to the lake and an upmarket restaurant where we had lunch, there is a camp site nearby that has a shop which we went to for our croissants in the morning and a cheaper restaurant for breakfast, lunch and evening meals which is a 10-15 min walk. On arrival we were met by Dave and Renee (home owners) they showed us round the house, pointing out all the essentials to the house and local area, also left a bottle of wine as a welcome which is a nice touch, there was also a few essential left in the kitchen. The house was clean, beds very comfortable with new bed linen and quilts, the house suited our needs very well. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Séjour à Doussard

Séjour agréable dans un cadre grandiose. Maison très propre et conforme à l'annonce. Il apparait néanmoins surprenant de voir le propriétaire quasi quotidiennement, tondre la pelouse ou encore taper quelques de golf dans le jardin. A ce du tarif, l'intimité devrait être de rigueur.
