Moldy, Sketchy, Unsafe Room – Stay Away!

DO NOT STAY HERE We had an awful experience. They gave us a musty basement room that smelled strongly of mold and mildew. The rooms have NO A/C, so there’s almost no air circulation — the only option for air was to leave our door open to the hallway (which feels unsafe) or crack open a tiny window that does nothing. We told the staff within 2 MINUTES that we could not stay there because it was so damp and unhealthy. The only “solution” they offered was a FAN, but we didn’t even take it because it would do nothing to fix the musty air. They refused to refund us even though we never stayed in the room. On top of that, the whole place felt like a motel where they rent by the month or even by the hour. The clientele hanging around seemed very sketchy, which made us feel even less safe. It’s unacceptable to rent out damp, unhealthy rooms with NO AIR CONDITIONING and no proper ventilation — and then deny any refund. Unless you enjoy breathing in mold all night surrounded by sketchy guests, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The lake view is beautiful. We (including all guests) in bldg 4 has trouble to get in as the key was not working. It was also a problem when it rained and none of the doors could be operated by the key. On the second day, the ice machine also broke down. The a/c within the room was not working.

Had no ideal Id be looking at the lake across the street outside my window. Room was roomy and clean. No AC ! Was a little warm for me in July at night. But the lake is right across the street and the view is amazing. Felt like a $300 room.

Deferred maintenance

The property is located in a great area. With that being said it just seems like ownership is just hanging on until the property sells. It’s fine but the no ac thing in the summer is definitely a buzz kill.

For what I paid, there were a few things that could be improved. No AC in room, WiFi was extremely slow, paper plates and plastic cutlery at breakfast. Good at breakfast was good. Finding the office to check in was tricky too, as there's four buildings and I didn't know which one to go to.
