Hotels with Bars in Yunnan

I stayed in the Suite at Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town, and it was truly remarkable. The traditional courtyard is gorgeous, quiet, and feels like a peaceful haven—yet it’s just a 5-minute walk to everything in the ancient town. The suite itself is top-notch: comfortable, spacious, and beautifully designed with local character. From the moment I checked in, the staff's warmth and hospitality were incredible. Unfortunately, a bad hit of altitude sickness meant I was in no condition to enjoy the room or the property the way it deserved. I had to cut my trip short and head straight back to Singapore. You really see what a hotel is made of when things go wrong like that. Instead of hiding behind fine print, the front desk team stepped up with real empathy. They waived the remaining nights of my suite on the spot and promptly confirmed the cancellation for my prepaid booking with Expedia so I could get a refund. If you want genuine, heart-led hospitality in a great location, this is the place to stay. I will vouch for them anytime, and whenever I make it back to Lijiang, I’ll be staying right here.

Great visit! Especially enjoyed visiting the tea house and learning from the tea master. Amazing architecture, service, breakfast, and grounds. Convenient location right next to the Old Town. Glad we stayed there.

The hotel is right across the Green Lake. Traffic in Kunming was the worst I have ever seen in China, especially around the city center so be mindful how much time you need to go around places. Breakfast buffet was ok for the hotels in Kunming. When I arrived, the hotel told me the room type I booked ran out, so you better call them beforehand to make sure the room type you booked is available.
