The hotel is great as it is basically at the main train station in the city centre.
On the first night our bathroom flooded as the shower didn’t drain properly. As it was late we didn’t change rooms but in the morning while we went for breakfast the housekeeping staff sorted it out for us. The reception staff were very apologetic and helpful. Once that minor issue was resolved the rest of the stay was great.
I had stayed before a couple of years ago so I knew the hotel breakfast was brilliant and caters for vegans and gluten free diets with a big selection. It had changed slightly since my last visit, the most annoying thing was that the labels have changed and it was hard to find out what the letters on the food meant. Otherwise it was great. Despite the hotel being very full, the breakfast went on for long enough and in a big enough space to accommodate guests with nothing running out as everything was constantly replenished. I know I’ll visit Helsinki again and would definitely stay here again.
