I stayed here for 7 nights while visiting Phnom Penh. During the week I went to Siem Reap for two nights but kept my room at The Plantation as the free nights offer I'd booked made this viable.
The hotel consists of a number of 1960s/70s New Khmer-style buildings built around a beautifully restored 1930s French colonial villa. My room was on the second floor with a balcony. The room was very spacious, bright and spotlessly clean and had great air conditioning and a ceiling fan.
The location is excellent and there are a number of great bars, cafes and a laundry close by. There is an ATM across the road from the main entrance. Everything you need to see is within walking distance or no more than a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away.
The breakfast buffet was included in the rate and offered a good choice of Western and Asian options. Served in the poolside restaurant by friendly and efficient staff, it was a great way to start the day. Staff throughout the hotel were king and courteous.
The hotel is also home to a French-Khmer fine dining restaurant, La Pergola, which was superb and I'd highly recommend.
