Beautiful Beach, Spacious Condo, Horrible Beds!

*The condo was very spacious. LOVED having the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and full kitchen. HOWEVER, the beds are the worst we have ever slept in... EVER! We travel A LOT and they were worse than any hotel or even cruise bed we've slept in. The beach was beautiful, however, there were no restaurants/bars, etc within walking distance. You really had to drive everywhere. I am used to jumping out of the pool or the ocean and walking somewhere for lunch, a drink, etc. We called the resort at 10:30am to let them know that we arrived, and would love an early- check in if possible. They agents were friendly, but I would assume (Working in the travel industry for 15 years) that they would notify housekeeing to clean that room earlier in the day. While check-in is at 3, it isn't guranteed until 5. They called us about 4:00 to let us know that our room was finally ready. At the end of the day- it really depends on what is important to you if this would be a good place. The short walk to the beach was nice but you really have to drive to get anywhere. I don't think I would necessairly stay here again given the very uncomfortble beds and that nothing was really in walking distance. For the price we paid, there was nothing special about this resort. I

Family Spring Break

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Islander room 501. The view of the ocean was awesome. We were able to watch a few people surfing and a whole group of dolphins swimming past. The beds were comfortable. It was nice to have two full bathrooms. The kitchen had all the basic kitchen utensils which was handy. The condo has two heated pools, hot tubs, pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard, and a basketball hoop. We brought baseball gloves and a frisbee. There was plenty to do right onsite. The other guests were very friendly and welcoming. We made new friends. Our only recommendation is for the condo association to put together a recycling system. We felt pretty bad having to dispose all the recycling with the garage.

Fantastic Experience

We were very pleased with our accommodations. The condo fit our family of five perfectly. Loved the beach access from the property. We would definitely recommend The Islander to others and will definitely consider returning the next time we are in Destin!

Beautiful Views

This condo was beautifully kept and had great views of the gulf. The location was very convenient to so many great restaurants and shopping along with water activities. We will defend be back next year !

We loved how well-stocked the unit was, with kitchenware and towels and everything we needed. We also really liked the property, the pools, the laundry room and the "community feel." It would be nice if there could be dining on-site, and bed-side electrical outlets would have been great for phones. But overall we were very pleased and will return!!
