Riverside Co STR Cert 002764.
Here’s your chance to stare into a deep, starry night as you poke glowing campfire embers, slowly warming a marshmallow (firewood and mallows provided). The soft bed awaits as you drift off to the low cull of roosting chickens and an occasional distant howl of coyotes (animals on call, no extra charge).
You’ve got plenty of private space, along with shared amenities around the entire 1.5 acre property. Two BBQ grills, numerous tables and seating/eating areas where you can tuck away alone or engage with other guests. Enjoy a "hangout" with hammock chairs and bean bags, a variety of cool lawn games, painting on the World Mural Wall and more.
This unique adventure has all the comforts you could hope for as you relax inside or under the stars including a comfortable bed, heated blankets, restroom, and Wifi around the entire property. Our years of hosting experience and the breathtaking panoramic mountain views are exactly what you need to unwind and restore yourself.
Guests enjoy a variety of private spaces along with generous shared areas. Let the relaxation begin in your private cabana tent and indoor bungalow, both crafted around your comfort. Or take in the outdoor shared amenities including a dual BBQ pit (with utensils, foil, oils, small iron skillet and basic spices), the fully-stocked coffee bar (Keurig, tea kettle, microwave, and minifridge), the Chick-magnet hangout (with hammock chairs, bean bags and a clear view of the chicken yard), along with two covered patios (with porch swing, rocking chairs, eating areas and deep-cushioned furniture). The bathroom is also large and shared.
Diana and Matt enjoy hosting you at their property, and while they are welcoming to you, they also give you the space you came for. They are both available when needed and reachable through the app messenger (they keep their phones nearby all night). Even if it’s late, they truly don’t mind and are happy to help! :)
You are welcome to ask them questions about the area. They have lived in the Desert Hot Springs/Palm Springs region for more than 20 years, so they know some great little restaurants and entertainment spots throughout the valley. You can check out the guestbook on the listing for suggestions!
We look forward to hosting your dream desert vacation that’s just minutes from numerous spas (many of them have day passes available), excellent food and nightlife options, outlet shopping, casinos, the Palm Springs aerial tramway, endless hiking options, and world-class natural wonders like Joshua Tree National Park and Mount San Jacinto. Our position on the brink of the San Andreas fault gives us numerous options for local natural hot springs, and the mountain pass leading to Los Angeles brings refreshing winds to compliment the warmth of the desert sun. Just a few minutes outdoors will have you feeling grounded, decompressed, and ready to experience the natural wonders of the valley.
Our neighborhood has larger properties that are quiet, private, and spread out. Because of this, our location has low light pollution - on a clear night be sure to watch for shooting stars! Joshua Tree National Park is just on the other side of the hills behind our home, so be prepared to hear the true sounds of the desert night. The occasional coyote may be howling at the moon, but our property is completely gated on top of layers of privacy hedges. The only visitor you’ll be getting is our super friendly husky mix, Jessie!
Our street only serves our neighborhood, so there won’t be much traffic. We have 3 separate driveways and plenty of parking space. Two of the most popular day spas in town are less than a mile away! All other activities will require transportation. We have both a nearby bus stop and easy access to ridesharing.
A secure, on-site parking area is near your private area. There is plenty of parking, and the entire property is gated and walled.
There is a bus stop at the nearest cross road (West St.) which is about 1/4 mile walk.
Uber and Lyft both serve the area, as do many food delivery apps.
Amazing amenities for enjoying the outdoors! 2 bathrooms with hot and cold water and flush toilets. A shower, with hairdryer, shampoo, liquid soap, towels - everything you need!
Jessie is our friendly, non-aggressive dog. She loves your attention and hangs around outside most of the time. She barks to say "hello", so please be patient with her as she strikes up a conversation. Huskies are notorious talkers :)
Our night sky is amazing on property, and yet many guests will also head up to Joshua Tree late at night to see the deepest night sky you can imagine (about 45 min away).
Do not eat or drink inside the tent (excluding water). We want to be careful not to draw any insects into the tent, so we are very strict on this rule.
Do not smoke in the tent or on the artificial putting green. If you bring cannabis, you must store it in the airtight container provided or outside the yurt so that the smell does not permeate the tent. Those that do not smoke are very sensitive to the smell, so there will be a charge to clean all the bedding if these rules are not followed. If you smoke, you must extinguish and dispose of any remnants, wrappers or butts in a trash bin. Thanks you.
After 11pm keep voices and music volume down to a conversational level for the consideration of other guests.
We invite you to paint on the World Wall Mural. Please choose ONE block and creatively express yourself (to promote a peaceful, inclusive atmosphere, do not include negative, political, sexually-related, or obscene messages. Paint ONLY on the wall (not on furniture or rocks or paint sink). Do not leave paint open or brushes unwashed. Again, please be considerate: clean up after yourself and clean your brushes. Thank you.
You are welcome to use the propane gas grills. If you are not familiar with the operation of a gas grill, please ask and we will be glad to assist you. After you use the grill you MUST completely close the gas valve on the tank (not only the knobs on the face of the grill).
We invite you to feel at home and be comfortable. If that involves moving any of the outdoor furnishings, you must put them back where you found them. Thank you.
Suitcases with wheels are not recommended. If you do have one, do not roll it or drag it on the pathways or through the sand. It will damage the suitcase wheels and our pathways. Please carry it into your yurt. Thank you.
Small campfires are allowed only INSIDE the fire pit. We have a high fire danger risk in the desert and all fires must be covered by the provided spark arrester screen. DO NOT attempt to build a large bonfire. Flame MUST NOT exceed 14" above the fire pit. NEVER leave a fire unattended. If it is before 11pm, please let us know if you are done enjoying the fires, since other guests may want to use it. If no one else is planning to use the fire, remove the screen and douse the fire COMPLETELY with water (use the watering can provided or even water from the coffee bar if needed). If it's too hot to touch, it's too hot to leave.
No candles or open flames are allowed in the tent.
There is a container of water near the fire pit to dowse it when you are finished, but Please do not dowse the fire before 11pm as other guests may want to use it. Be sure to REMOVE the spark arrester screen BEFORE pouring water on the fire as it will damage the metal screen. Never leave the fire pit area without placing the spark arrester over the pit. If you are not familiar with building a fire safely, please message me for help. In case of fire emergency, there is a fire extinguisher in the bottom right drawer of the coffee bar.
Please drive slowly (5mph max) when on the property for the safety of all our guests and pets. Be sure the gates are closed as you come and go so that our dog, Jessie, won’t wander out. If she happens to go out, leave the gate open and she will return on her own.
Our bathrooms are shared by all of our outdoor yurt glampers, so please be considerate of your fellow guests. Limit your time to only what is necessary, do not leave any personal items on the counter or in the shower, and sanitize the areas you used before you leave. There are disinfectant wipes and Lysol provided for this purpose. Bins are available to store your personal items. We clean the restroom regularly as well, so our guests can expect a pleasant space. If any toiletry items or towels run out, please let us know. Although we often check, we want you to have what you need.
Finally, I hate to even have to mention this, but please be considerate of other guests and clean up your own mess or trash, especially when using one of the shared areas. Do not leave food, dishes, bags, on tables or in the way of other guests.
Thank you for your consideration and cooperation, and enjoy your stay!
