A basic, good value, apartment. There is private access to a small beach. There is a food stand and nice restaurant near by.

Beautiful gardens and birds and hardworking host doing her best with limited staff. Must have been great in its day but needs some updating and TLC but has great potential. Super quiet, big comfy bed and good AC.
Nice to have a kitchenette with fridge, stove and microwave + coffee maker. Nice to cook your own meals. Patio with table and chairs.
Great location, close to Jordans supermarket which has fresh friut/veg and meats/fish along with beer, wine, liquor and fruit juices + milk available.
This location has a grandfathered lease for access to the ocean. Gated access path is walking distance, about 100m to the ocean. For those in the know, beach access is sometimes hard to come by. To have this perk is an excellent bonus. There is gated, on site parking and a
bar with cooked food on site.

The owner asked for additional fees at check out which was not in any fine print on my reservation with Expedia -
Also, these fees were not mentioned at checkin either.
I felt very taken advantage of.

Stayed here when we came over for the cricket . Rooms are basic but have everything you need and are clean and the shower was great . The veranda outside was good and we spent a few hours enjoying a couple of beers with the other guests. Chandra the owner cooked us breakfast everyday and there are a few decent bars and restaurants nearby. The garden hosts some unusual wildlife , monkeys and hummingbirds, and as for the dogs they’re great , old and loyal guard dogs . You can get on a bus (great service in both directions)into Bridgetown or Holetown at the bottom of the street . But don’t turn up expecting the Hilton
Amazing staff went the extra mile to make stay comfortable.

My stay
Was ok, but there was no prices shown for food and drinks. Please be aware of this, as we got caught out the day before our departure. The owner has three dogs running around and there is no signs up warning people. Whilst we were there a woman was bitten and had to go to hospital. Overall a ok place, but could be better if we were to recommend it.
A liability waiting to happen. The ceiling fan (AC did not work and no instructions as to how to use the remote for the AC if it works) was rickety, wobbly and wires hanging out - fire hazard and appeared to be attached to the ceiling with plastic strips! Terrible hospitality - no signs, can't find room easily since room numbers are painted the same color as the outside of buildings. Not walking distance to grocery store. Flies in the rice on the kitchen stove. No signs not to pet dog that bites. Kitchen towels were old and stained. Bathroom towels were gross - dark gray and stained with white. The room has hideous decor - tacky drapes, windows don't open so stuffy. The garden setting is nice and cute building but would not recommend. Stay in Hole Town - it is the nicest place on the island. I felt like the owner doesn't care about her guests - only the money she gets. Everyone else I met in Barbados is friendly and they go out of their way to be kind and helpful. Not her. She likes dogs and feeds the birds - that is the good thing about her - but would never stay there again.

Clean and does the job
The owner was very friendly, the room was very clean but with slightly outdated decor. It was perfect for a short trip however. There were a couple of issues - the air con didn’t work, but luckily the overhead fan did, and I had requested the fridge to be stocked with beer and water, and found 6 beers and one small water! Also the beer was three months past it’s best before date. But honestly for a cheap holiday it did the job perfectly well and I would recommend staying here if you are on a budget.
within minutes of confirming reservation, I needed to cancel. I went back in to try and cancel but was unable due to loss of 1/2 the price of the booking which would've cost me $950. Only contact listing number was a Bardadian number-NO 800 number! On arrival the hostess was very rude. She said she thought I was a no show! Even though it stated I couldn't arrive until after 3pm. I had to go to the office 2 times due to the phone didn't work. Listed wifi and cable but no mention of additional charge for the wifi. 3 times I had to go to the office because the wifi didn't work. She finally moved me to another room even though the listing stated only 1 rooms left. I also commented on where everyone was seeing the listing said only one room left. She said they were coming! THE PLACE WAS EMPTY!!! The listing stated complimentary breakfast but I was informed it would cost me $25 for bacon, eggs and toast. I only stayed for one night but was charged for the week. When checking out I couldn't find her. I stood in the office for 15 minutes and finally left her a note stated I was checking out! I WAS NOT HAPPY!!!!!

Paradise's Time Machine is 30 min away from BRI
Chandra and her dogs are great hosts, but the room was in need of an upgrade. The lamps were almost about to snap in half, the radio was broken, the light in the bathroom flickered on/off and the TV is from a very old generation. The AC unit leaked the first night, and it wasn't until after my third night that hotel cleaning staff serviced my room. Leaving me with clean towels, but not replenishing my stock, it forced me to get creative for a hectic night.
The neighborhood is nice. Bus stop a minute away ($1USD/$2BBD), the gas station 15 minutes away, and the nearest AFFORDABLE restaurant was ten minutes down the road (with karaoke on saturday). The private beach is a nice getaway if you wanna spot some animal life (or witness a sea turtle give birth... not joking) but take the term private is very LOOSE and focus more on the term ACCESS. Moments with my SO were interrupted twice by locals walking by, but liked that it was less than a minute away.
If you're not an animal or mango person, then probably not the right choice for you. But if you don't mind kicking it old school and $3 wifi, then welcome to Paradise's Time Machine
Very dated and a bit run down. The owner has several dogs which I was not made aware of before my stay. Hidden fees are everywhere, if you're looking for a cheap place to stay you'd be better off spending a bit more up-front to avoid the fees.

Good value for money, near beach
We were met at the airport in Barbados, by Sandra, who had been sent by Chandra, who owns the Angler Apartments. On our arrival we were greeted at the gate by Chandra, and one of her friendly dogs. We were shown to our apartment, which had a fully equipped kitchenette, and bathroom. Chandra offered to cook us a meal, which we accepted. An hour later we were sitting eating delicious fish cakes, in a garden setting. The food was so good we arranged to eat there again the next night.
We slept very soundly each night we stayed in the apartment, as there was no noise. Even though Chandra has four dogs, we were never disturbed by any of them barking. The bed was very comfortable.
During the day we visited Hole Town and Speighstown. To get there we used the "Reggae Buses", which cost $2 (Barbadian) approx $1 US to go anywhere.
A small beach was a short walk from the appartments.
All in all a great stay.

peaceful place- welcoming and relaxing
We were welcomed by Chandra-who was very helpful. The acommodation is simple and had everthing we needed. Angler is a really relaxing place and i would love to visit again one day

Great Stay off the Beaten Path in Barbados
I spent 4 days/3 nights at the Angler Apartments in Barbados and was very happy with my stay!
Chandra was a gem and so nice to arrange a pick up from the airport (I was going to rent a car, but honestly this place would have been difficult to find w/o GPS in the daytime, let alone impossible at night) so I was glad Chandra talked me out of driving myself from the airport and arranged a personal pick up at the airport instead $35 for a private car w/the driver waiting for you as you exit with a name sign was a bargain, considering it was about a 30mins drive from airport to Angler.
The property itself is very quaint on a quiet neighborhood street. The room I had was just what I needed for the time I was there. The A/C did leak/drip the first night I was there, but stopped after the 2nd day and the room was nice and cool my entire stay. My room was very clean and every amenity was provided including pots/pans/dishes/cutlery for the kitchenette a beach towel and even shower gel was also included. The only issue I had was the night before I was to leave, the smoke detector start chirping loudly at 10pm and kept doing so every 20-30mins. I had to sleep w/earplugs the last night because the ceilings were too high for us to reach it to change the batts, other than that small snafu, however, it was a wonderful stay!
Chandra's dogs were super sweet and very socialized and well-behaved. And it was fantastic of her to offer some of the mangos that had fallen off her tree. They were delicious!
Chandra also arranged for a rental car for me and the guy she uses dropped off the car at the property and allowed me to leave the car at the airport for pickup. Very nice service!
The folks she has working around the property are also very sweet and approachable. I am terrible w/names, but the lovely gentleman that was working on the property the day before I left was kind enough to help me wash out my shoes w/the hose to remove all the sand.
The main selling point and what makes this place such a bargain is the key you get to the private beach across the street. This in and of itself was worth every penny! I had the beach to myself almost every evening and it was one of the few beaches that wasn't covered in seaweed...just beautiful, secluded, turquoise Caribbean waters!
Visited Barbados with team to review hotels. Anglers personal choice as wanted to not only visit 5/4 star hotels, but get the real feel of this island. Hit the jackpot. Situated in BEST section of island, Chandra patron friendly, helpful and welcoming, accommodation simple but has everything you need. Dogs no problem, and great guards so make you feel very safe. The garden is very lush, attracts beautiful bird life and gives very calm atmosphere. AND you are given key to gate that takes you onto private beach, 2 mins walk away. As good as Sandy Lane's with not intruding camera lens. Paradise. This is a lovely location for families too. Loads of space for kids to play, own kitchen so remember big hotels add 150% on imported goods thus trip to local supermarket keeps budgets sensible and each apt has outside dining facilities plus picnic tables in the gardens. Just loved staying here.
Angler Apt's was perfect for our week's stay. We were on a tight budget as were here for a friend's wedding therefore this worked out great for us as a very reasonable rate for the week and we could self-cater.
All the staff were really lovely and Chandra (owner) was most helpful and accommodating. She arranged a transfer for us both ways from the airport and she offered some catering services too. She even ensured there were beers in the fridge on arrival! We felt very welcome!
The room was simply furnished, very clean and well appointed. Everything worked and was in good order. The kitchen area was fully fitted and the shower was nice and powerful.
We had our own veranda with a table and chairs, air-con and a ceiling fan in the room.
The biggest selling point, which we didn't know about when booking, is that there is the most beautiful secluded beach just a hundred metres away!!! The sand is nearly pink, the sea turquoise, and the sunsets immense! Just gorgeous. We were there every day and miss it a lot now we're home!
The snorkelling is great; lots of fish and sea-life to see plus the sea is very shallow, calm and safe.
We were able to stroll up and book our boat trips and water sports from the Crystal Cove section of the beach, with very few people ever venturing down our end (bliss!)
We were also next door to the islands most exclusive restaurant 'The Cliff' and a short walk from cheaper eateries and bars and bus stops which took up to all major towns.
Get what you pay for... Cheap but underwhelming. The apartment was clean but we couldn't escape the dark, dingy feeling from being in a very dated, musty accommodation.
Location is good and the private beach was a bonus.
Enjoyed it for the value it offered. Close to the beach at a good price.

Great for Europeans
It was okay -- a safe, convenient accommodation. The private beach was not really private and very rocky. So get yourself some beach shoes. For Americans who like a little bit more comfort, it was not ideal. For Europeans who love the exotic, it's perfect. The food was extraordinarily expensive for ots quality, as well as internet access.

Simple but clean. Good location
This place could be a lot better with just a few small improvements. Sheets and towels need to be replaced. Good location. Close to beach and grocery stores. Buses very easy to use to go into Holetown. Restaurants within walking distance. Great little fish market at edge of Paynes beach, so kitchen comes in handy if you don't want to eat out all the time. Chandra knowledgable about where to eat and where to go. Must love dogs since the five of them are always around, but friendly. Great place if you don't need luxury. Worth it to take one bedroom studio so get a small sitting room with TV.
