The hotel was very clean, the rooms were very quiet, nice hot water in the shower, the lobby and room always smelled good. Requested a late check out, and it wasn’t a problem. Safety was great!! You needed a room key to enter the hotel and use the elevator.

It was just ok. Often there was no one at the front desk so to check in or buy water from, we had to wait a while for someone to let us in so we could check in. Then the breakfast was so bad we didn’t even go back down to try it the second day. It was inedible. Will never stay there again.

We arrived at 4 pm this past Friday and the internet was down for almost 1 hour, which stranded my wife and I, as well as a line of registrants at the front desk. I was not able to register using my Expedia reservation, though the registration was in the system. We were let in our room by key and later that evening I was given two keys for our room. Fast forward to Saturday evening at 11:30 pm in which the room was given to another lodger who entered our room, to our amazement, twice. The front desk called us and insisted that we need to vacate the room and could not find our reservation nor records that we have paid for the room. I insisted that we tackle this problem in the morning. At ca. 8 am I discussed with the front desk person about the late night invasion and strange phone called to vacate our room. My wife and I left our room for breakfast but could not re-enter our room. The desk person found or reservation but was unwilling to recharge me for the room. He accompanied up to our room to open the door with a master key. As we were readying ourselves for the day and packing to leave this contested room we were contacted twice by phone and thrice by person that we needed to vacate our room ASAP. To close this odd story, we ventured to the desk and paid our bill with a credit card used in the initial reservations, with no problems. I was told by the desk clerk that management would be contacting me on Monday, to offer restitution for these unusual hotel events.

Arrival was awkward, stay was good
Like the title says, our stay was good but the arrival was awkward and left a lot to be desired. We arrived at the hotel just before 4pm, and from the outside it did not appear to be busy. We walked up to what we thought was the front door, only to have the second set of sliding doors not open, and no one inside giving any kind of direction. Assuming we weren’t at the main entrance, we ended up walking around the entire building and ending up right back where we started. This time, another person checking in was also stuck at the same door, on the phone trying to get in touch with someone, until a hotel housekeeper walked up and let us in. Just inside the door was registration, with one couple waiting and no one at the front desk. A friendly gentleman finally came from a side door and offered to check us in while assisting another front desk attendant who was trying to assist the other couple. There seemed to be some confusion and disorganization. Despite that, we finally checked in and the rest of our stay was uneventful. Other than the painfully slow elevators, the hotel was in great condition. The room/bathroom could have used a little more lighting, but no biggie. The proximity of the hotel to Baylor was the big deal for us, and we appreciated the quiet stay.

I would highly recommend this place. The hotel is beautiful, it’s clean, the beds were comfy, they provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the staff are so friendly. There’s free breakfast in the morning and in the evening, they have free happy hour. It’s in walking distance of Baylor Hospital, right next to Starbucks, McDonald’s, some sandwich shop that I don’t remember the name of. And if you drive a few blocks over, there’s so many restaurants to choose from. Fuzzys Tacos was delicious and so was Terry Black ‘s BBQ. Some other places you can try is, Up Town and Lower Greenville.
