When I arrived at the property to check in the Hilton system was down. I was told by the manager that she could not check anyone in at that time and that she was not sure when she would be able to this was around 7:30 PM. I said ok I left the property and returned a two hours later after dinner. She said that she still could not check anyone in. After another hour of my wife and I waiting in the lobby she finally says to me “let me take a look at your reservation.” I had booked through a third party (Expedia) and I had already paid through their site. The hours of inconvenience destroyed our relaxation plan for the evening. She gave us a room key and stated that we hadn’t been officially checked in but it would be risky if the night auditor (whom she stated was an older lady) got confused and booked someone into the same room. So after we got the room key to 124 we went to the room to try to relax but couldn’t because we were afraid of someone walking in on us. I then went back to the front desk to ensure we were properly checked in once the night person got there and she ensured me that we were then checked in. This was on Saturday night into Sunday. The manager did reach out via text message to check in how the accommodation that she had given was going. I told her it was fine. We had a restless night. Our night was ruined but we attempted to make the best of it. I’m highly upset with Hilton Properties for the lack of answers and do a night that we can’t get back.
