Hockey team of kids playing and screaming in the hall way …. taking over the elevator … the staff did attempt to address but whatever they did… did not work…. fire alarm went off on my floor false alarm from a room that had the kids in it… And my AC unit never worked in my room after someone supposedly fixed it…. All in all worst experience i’ve ever had at any hotel in 30 years

I really enjoyed the property. It was clean and the staff was friendly and they offered the best continental breakfast I have ever seen. A little pricey at just over 800 for 3 nights apparently due to peak leaf peeping season and Columbus Day. The hotel must have had some sort of group with a ton of young children. That wasn’t an issue until the last night. I developed a cold and needed Advil pm and lots of sleep on my last night. That night, every few moments, I was abruptly awaken by the screams and laughter of countless children running up and down the hallways as they banged on room doors. I was quite disturbed and thought about calling down to the front desk but was so drowsy from my medication that I could barely move…that is until someone pulled the fire alarm at 10 pm just moments after the last time I heard the children and nearly hurt myself as I flew off the bed in my medicated state completely disoriented. I know this is not the fault of the hotel and its staff as the parents who were all congregating in the lobby and having their own adult time while their kids were waking me every few min. Maybe I wouldn’t be as upset if not for the meds and the cold I developed as a nor’easter was rolling in. It was cold and rainy and just not something I needed to deal with at that moment. While the parents were at fault, I don’t understand why the staff didn’t politely ask the parents to control their children.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay. The ENTIRE staff were happy and busy doing their job well. Management must be superb because the employees appear to enjoy their jobs…they act like one big family. I’ve never seen a hotel with this much cohesiveness. They take pride in all they do including constantly maintaining the property. Staff were always visible. We’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and this one stands out as a true gem. Well done!

Everything was going good until I had to kill a roach in the morning. Then the following morning my daughter had to kill another roach when we came in after breakfast at the entryway. The continental breakfast was good.

We really enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Express-everything was clean and tidy. Especially liked the layout of the room with the separate toilet/shower room and then the sink/coffee station area. Also liked the chaise lounge couch for additional seating. Pancake machine at breakfast was fantastic! Have never seen one before. Employees were all very friendly.
