Always an amazing stay at the el cid. We’ve been there. 15 or so times and it never ceases to amaze us. Small quiet place with most of the all inclusive off of a menu, which means it’s cooked fresh to order. We love it!!

I had a fantastic stay at El Cid La Ceiba! Everything was spotless, the staff were so friendly, and the food was always fresh. Roger, the activities director, was amazing — I even won pearl earrings at bingo! I treated myself to massages by the beach and loved relaxing in the hammocks by the ocean. I can’t wait to come back!

We've been going to El Cid for 15 years, multiple times per year. They used to offer dinner from the menu, the rooms smelled like bleach after a cleaning, and the staff was friendly. Not this trip. The one night we decided to order room service because the buffets had been mediocre and that's all they offer for dinner now..my husband got food poisoning. He was extremely ill and spent half his time puking or on the toilet, or BOTH. The little manager lady didn't like that we were ordering room service instead of the buffet, that's the only place we ate and he got really sick...so we know it was their food. Secondly- they would tell us "that's not included in YOUR all inclusive...like the wifi codes we originally got that didn't work so they had to print out new ones, or ordering food at dinner from the menu.. Thirdly- the red flags were up unless cruise passengers were there- they we're not willing to lose money on the cruise guys, but didn't want us swimming. So when cruises started coming in,- the flags magically changed to yellow. Finally- they were painting the room next to ours, and the fumes were horrible. We all got migraines but they didn't want to move our rooms. There were also a ton of itty bitty ants climbing all over our stuff. Presumably because they had the patio opened up in the room remodeled. We've turned or taken over 30 people to this place as we thought it was the best. Now we're looking for a new hotel in cozumel. Never again.

Another great trip to El Cid! The staff is what makes this resort exceptional. The chefs at El Cid are phenomenal. I would like to thank Roger, Vicki, Erik our bartender, Juan, Jose Neomie waitstaff. Fernanda during check in. The only complaint I had was with Expedia, which is being addressed at this time. Thank you El Cid for another great vacation. See you in 6 months.

Bellman Ari and Event Coordinator Roger were by far the highlight of our vacation. They were awesome guys who always had smiles and warm welcomes. I would go back just to see them again.

We had a fantastic all inclusive week long family vacation here at the end of March '25. This is a boutique resort, smaller. The food was amazing. The staff were helpful and accommodating. Daytime was busier with the cruise crowd and day passes with the evenings much quieter. Rosita from housekeeping was wonderful (Rm 1433). Thank you!

The property was beautiful and generally well maintained. One of our rooms air conditioners barely worked so that is why the 4 stars. Staff was warm, kind, helpful and hospitable. Food was AMAZING!!

We returned to El Cid after 10 years and we still love it! The staff is great and that’s what makes this a great place to stay. We just went to relax and do a little snorkeling and this place was great for both. The small resort made it easy to get to know people and we made good friends on our visit.

The property from the front is very run down and old and the sidewalk/parking lot is broken down with holes and broken concrete. The staff is wonderful. No beach I repeat NO BEACH even though it’s a beach resort there is no beach. We had to pay $80 to go to San Francisco beach club. Taxis are anywhere from 10-20 each way. No bus system. We did enjoy the cruise ships coming and going. Only one restaurant. No evening entertainment except for karaoke. Limited food and drink choices. Again it was clean staff was great. Very small property.
