This was a fantastic choice to stay at for our weekend getaway, and I highly recommend it! The hotel was lovely, the staff was helpful, friendly, and wonderful at their job! The only thing I would tell people visiting here is to be sure not to take a room facing the main road if you are a light sleeper. The traffic noise kept us up. I know that the hotel website says that they are updating the AC and heating system, but this hadn't been done in our room yet, and the small AC unit in the window was placed in just the wrong way so that it let in the humidity, and didn't quite cool the room. It also rained the entire time we were visiting, so we didn't have a chance to sit by the campfire area, but it looked amazing!

The room was excellent- exactly like the photos on the Website. Check-in and check-out were very easy and we were impressed by the snacks and beverages although we didn't use them. The commentary bottle of water was was much appreciated. Beautiful country property!

Clearly, it’s a work in progress. The room was well stocked with amenities. The bed was just OK. Shower and bathroom good. The floor was not particularly clean, with sand and some small pebbles to step on. The outside of the property just looks like it needs an update. Worked out fine for me, as I am not especially particular.

I love Motel stays and this was a great one, there's a certain charm and feel I get from a motel. Property was in great condition, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. All the practical experiences of a motel plus the comfort and convivences of a modern hotel. They were welcoming of us and our Dog and we really enjoyed our stay

I've considered staying here before and finally did. Very comfortable bed. Excellent bathroom with super hot water and great shower head. Goodies for purchase in the room were quite thoughtful. Complimentary French press coffee was perfect in the morning. Guessing rooms will continue to be updated over time (like window shades and removal of old AC wall units) but overall happy with my experience.

This place is a gem! Some context, my boyfriend and I (23) are from an urban area and work brought us here for a quick trip. We both enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city. We normally stay at chain hotels. With no chain hotels in reasonable driving distance from our destination we went with the Alander. We were out of our comfort zones and nervous. As soon as we entered the room our anxiety quickly faded. The room was well maintained and clean. It had a very inviting home away from home feel. We ate at the North Star- the attached restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff were lovely. The owners value attention to detail and it shows! We will definitely be back.

Alander is a great place to stay. Room is spacious clean. Bed is comfortable and nice. Decor is over the top. Bathroom is neat and clean. Most of all the staff is accommodating, accessible and responsive to our request even it was late. Love the idea of promoting local products. Love the coffee! The restaurant North Star is superb food was great. Hopefully we can go back in spring. Despite the snowstorm we still enjoyed our stay.
