Refund request

I am requesting a full refund for my recent booking at the Days Inn in Starkville, MS (made through Hotels.com). The room provided was unsafe, unsanitary, and unfit for occupancy. Key issues included: • Multiple electrical outlets not working, including near the bed. • No in-room telephone to contact the front desk. • Entry door that did not seal, leaving gaps for outside air and light. • Mold, mildew, rust, and general filth throughout the room and bathroom. • A refrigerator with heavy ice and rust buildup. • Trash and debris around the property exterior. Most concerning, at check-in an ozone machine had been running in the room — a device typically only used for severe contamination. Ozone exposure is unsafe, and this raised serious health concerns. Because my stay coincided with a major football game in town, relocating was not a realistic option; other hotels were fully booked or priced far outside a reasonable range. I am attaching photos that clearly document these conditions. Given the state of the room and property, I expect Hotels.com to issue a full refund.

Do yourselves a favor and stay somewhere else. WiFi is absolutely terrible, broken chair in the room, looks like paint splattered across tv screen, no drain stopper in sink. And I think my college age son has more in his kitchen than the offerings here for breakfast. And what they charge for it? They ought to be arrested

The beds were so old and uncomfortable. Furniture was all mangled like it went through a hurricane. All of ice machines were out of order. The pool had a tampon and wades of hair floating in it.

Upon entering the room I was almost knocked down with the smell of patchouli and pine. It wasn't the cleanest (the floor and walls could have used some additional spot cleaning) and they must have sprayed for bugs recently because there was a dead bug on the floor in the bathroom when I woke up, that wasn't there the night before. The door to the room wasn't sealed very well because you could see daylight across the bottom of the frame. Fun fact: the door also included a chain lock, which I hadn't seen in years. (in addition to a dead-bolt) A plus was that the AC worked great and kept the room very cool during my mid-august stay in Mississippi. You get what you pay for.

We only stayed here because the other hotels were full. We booked it for 3 nights. When we walked into the room we were hit with a terrible and musty smell. The walls near the ceiling were covered in mold - and you can tell they tried painting over it to hide it but failed. To top it off, housekeeping was banging on our door before 9am which was well before checkout time. This place needs a health inspection and should not be open to guests in its current state. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
