About this property
Romantic King Suite, Gas Fireplace, Chef`s Kitchen
The room you book to mark something. The Carmichael is the flagship luxury suite at The Brick & Beam, a boutique hotel in an 1885 building on Hurontario Street in downtown Collingwood. Vaulted ceilings, original timber beams, and tall windows over the street, with a king bed and a gas fireplace set in original brick. It`s the largest of the four, made for slow mornings and long evenings by the fire.
One guest wrote, `The red kitchen was a standout, and the big windows filled the apartment with natural light.` (Nadine, Bowmanville)
At a glance
• Sleeps up to 4, king bed plus queen pull-out sofa
• Gas fireplace set in original brick
• Vaulted ceilings with original exposed beams
• Full kitchen with gas range, large island seats four
• Double-vanity bathroom, glass walk-in shower
• Tall windows over Hurontario Street
• Steps to downtown, a 15-minute drive to Blue Mountain
The space
High and open, with vaulted ceilings, original exposed beams, and tall east-facing windows that fill the room with morning light. The bedroom has a king bed with an upgraded memory-foam mattress and soft linens, and the living area holds a queen pull-out sofa that sleeps two more. A gas fireplace framed in original brick, a smart TV, furnace heating, and air conditioning for any season.
The kitchen is built for real cooking, a bold red kitchen with full-size stainless steel appliances, a gas range, cookware, and a Keurig, anchored by a large island that seats four and a full dining table. The renovated bathroom has a double vanity and a glass walk-in shower with striking teal tile.
Original brick, timber, and a warm oversized chandelier give the room real presence. It`s the one guests take when the stay is the occasion.
Guest access
Yours for the stay, plus the shared interior hallway. The suite is on the second floor, reached by stairs from the front entrance on Hurontario Street or the rear entrance beside Bakery by the Bay. There is no elevator in the building.
Other things to note
• Self check-in. Your door code and details arrive on the morning of arrival. Check-in from 4pm, check-out by 11am.
• The bathroom is within the bedroom ensuite. Guests using the sofa bed reach it through the bedroom.
• No private parking on site. A municipal lot sits directly behind the building. Downtown parking is paid Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, and free evenings, weekends, and holidays. The HotSpot app makes it easy.
