Extremely Disappointing Experience – Security and Accuracy Issues
I cannot emphasize enough how disappointing my stay at this property was, starting with the fact that my girlfriend arrived back to the VRBO to find a random man standing in the kitchen,
My girlfriend returned to the rental on her own and was shocked to find a random man standing in the kitchen. He claimed the place was his VRBO. Thankfully, nothing happened, but this was a serious safety issue. I immediately called the listed number, who routed me through a third-party company to reach the property manager—not even the owner.
The manager seemed entirely indifferent to the severity of the situation my girlfriend had just experienced. The door in the kitchen, which we couldn’t lock or unlock from the inside as we assumed it to be a storage closet with personal belongings. We later learned that this door actually led to an external access point, which was meant for workers. The manager assured me this was a "one-time mistake" where the cleaners had failed to lock the door. However, when the manager attempted to lock the door, the deadbolt didn’t even work. We have no idea how long the door had been in that condition or how many other guests had stayed there feeling secure, unaware that anyone could have walked in at any time.
The listing itself was misleading. The property is advertised as having two bathrooms, but there was only one. To make matters worse, the water pressure in the bathroom was so low it felt like a waste of time trying to shower. Please stay elsewhere.
