It's convenient to have free shuttle to and from the station. Even it's out of the shuttle bus service hours, we could hop on a taxi and travel to amd from station for free. Staff members are kind and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were enjoyable. Highlight was the onsen which was relaxing. The room was quiet and neat. Value for money. Would recommend the hotel.

The staff speak English or Mandarin hence communication was a breeze for me. They were very friendly, helpful and polite. The location of the ryokan is within walking distance to the town and close to the train station. Hotel provides a bus shuttle to the train station. From the train station to the hotel, there is also a complimentary ride. I had a very pleasant stay at the ryokan and highly recommend it.

Typical ryokan onsen resort. Food was excellent. But the bed was very uncomfortable and the exit from the room bathroom was a definite potential fall hazard

Onsen is good, food is excellent, service is perfect! We were taking a taxi from Gero JR station to the hotel, Yamagataya, the driver gave us a free ride, great service!

This is a great onsen experience. Great service and friendly staff. The baths are good and clean, and the kaiseki food is fantastic. Building is a bit old, but the traditional rooms were comfortable and atmospheric. Would go again!
