5 / 5
The hotel is in an excellent location. It is close to the pyramid, the zocalo, the mercado, and much of the shopping areas. There are several interesting cathedrals nearby.
The hotel itself is interesting. Some things are quirky, like all of the room keys look like they have been in service since colonial days, literally. They are keys that go into a large keyhole and the door locks internally to the door. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is an elevator, if that is important to you.
All of that said, there are some local traditions that might surprise you if you haven't had much experience traveling in Mexico. Local traditions include the setting off of fireworks to celebrate religious holidays, many times day and night. And there are a lot of religious celebrations. This makes it very interesting, having so many churches nearby.
Have fun and enjoy the culture!
