Near Monsoreau and Candes St. Martin, two of the most beautiful villages in France. Experience the Loire castles of Villandry, Ussé, Azay-le-Rideau, Langeais and Saumur. In the middle of the Tourraine wine district there are many famous wine farms. A beautiful cycling area with paths along the Loire. Horseback riding, boating, golf nearby. Small watercourse on the common part of the property. The cubic meter of wood for heating costs 55 euros a week.

This is an amazing property which has you really able to experience the history and beauty of the Loire Valley. Clean, simply but carefully furnished this place has everything you will need. A great launching place for visits to the Chateau. The best thing, you can see the Chinon chateau from your chateau. What an expereince

Lovely base for exploring the Loire and it's a castle!

This is a great little 2 bedroom self contained accom in the old dovecote/pigeonhouse of 12-15th century Chateau Vauguyon. Apparently the chateau belonged to Richeleu's butler (or maybe brother, I may have misheard). Anyway, the rooms are big with lovely old windows. The Master BR looks out onto the hillside field where the owner's fallow deer graze and the other BR looks across the Vienne to Chinon and and it's hilltop fortress. Kitchen, bathroom, laundry facilities are all good once you work out the mysteries of the french labelled washing machine, and the grounds are beautiful. We ate figs every day from the tree in the yard. M. Duluth, the host, is very helpful and friendly. He has excellent English which made things easy for us and he is very chatty. It is a nice 8km run over to the to Chinon fortress and back or you can stretch it to 10 around the medieval city. There are also some 10km loops back over the range behind the chateau and through the fields which are beautiful. Have fun!

Séjour chargé d'Histoire dans un lieu complètement décalé. Petit bémol, un feu de bois fort difficile à entretenir et un manque de chaleur tant côté du chauffage que de la déco...(coussins ou plaid absents sur le divan) par exemple. Reste un très beau souvenir

Le gîte et le site sont fabuleux: la vue sur la forteresse de Chinon est sublime. Je recommande vraiment ce gîte car en plus on est accueilli chaleureusement par le propriétaire : monsieur Duthu. Très bonnes vacances en famille afin de découvrir les châteaux de Touraine.
