Lovingly Restored Country House in Olive Grove with Vineyard 10 minutes from sea

Casa Bianca is part of a wine and olive oil estate which has been lovingly restored and refurbished by its owners. Casa Bianca now offers 4 double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large sitting room with a log fire (olive logs provided) making 180 square meters and sleeping max 9 people. Casa Bianca's cool and light internal space is set in gentle Olive Groves with our vineyards below the house, and vegetable gardens and fruit trees all around, with jasmine, mimosa, roses and masses of wild flowers all in their season.


Off the fully modernized kitchen is a terrace for al fresco dining and in front of the house a vine/wiseria-covered shady pergola with dining table where you can admire this tranquil old olive grove and the pine and chestnut woods (we will give you FREE some of our wine and oil) to help you unwind after a long day at the beach or walking the Cinque Terre or shopping in Chiavari Market for antiques or the superb local specialty food shops.


Also near is Santa Margherita, a very smart resort with famous fish market and yacht marina, Rapallo a quaint old seaside town, and Zoagli where the sea laps the traffic-free town square. Sestri Levante is 5 kms the other way, an elegant old village on the sea with the romantic sandy Bay of Silence one side and the long promenade on the Bay of Tigullio on the other. Or stay in Chiavari and walk along the promenade with its gardens and fountains and safe and clean gravel and rock beaches where the sea swimming is easy, clean and safe. or admire the marina, sit in a seaside bar and watch the sun set behind Portofino mountain.


Genoa is 40 kms west where you can explore the world famous Aquarium, the ancient noble palaces and art galleries, visit the theatre and shops. Florence and Pisa and Lucca are a few hours away by car and can be explored in a day trip from Chiavari. There is so much to do and see that a week here is not enough but you can do what many of our guests do - come back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer house! The place was clean, beautifully, and had everything we needed for our family of 7 adults and 2 kids. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The host was friendly and responsive, making check-in and communication super easy. We truly felt at home and would definitely love to stay here again!

We had a lovely stay at Casa Bianca. The host is exceptionally nice and helpful. The situation is lovely, relatively remote and the grounds are very nice - olive oil and wine excellent as other reviewers have said. The house is relatively basic in provisions and the fans not particularly powerful although we were there in a heatwave. A small pool to dip in would be very welcome.We found that the walk to the sea took significantly longer than on the listing. Please note that this was in a group with two children under 8, and two adults 70 and we had no car with us. However, even for a strong walker either pathway presents fairly steep and bobbly hills to get down (and up!), and once you're in the town there's still some way to go to the beach (more accurate for us would be: 25 minutes to the beach/seaside). Given the heat of August during our stay (30C) this made it quite grueling unfortunately. Chiavari and surroundings are of course very nice and we had some great meals in town (particularly the Antica Osteria Da Ü Dria at bottom of hill - don't trust the Google reviews, it's a wonderful family restaurant!). Beaches are good, though had a severe jellyfish sting on one, so watch out. Train rides to Camogli recommended, much clearer water and stunning scenery there.

Birthday getaway to Chiavari

Casa Bianca is a lovely renovated Italian farmhouse. It is absolutely beautiful and exactly as depicted in the VRBO photos. :) A peaceful, beautiful location in the hills outside Chiavari. We enjoyed family time in the evening on the scenic outdoor patio. The proximity to town, Cinque Terre, and Rapallo/Portofino is wonderful. We visited beautiful Buranco Vineyard in Cinque Terre (only an hour drive away) and took a boat to/from Portofino from Rapallo (short drive). The entrance and drive into the property was challenging due to the steepness of the driveway, and more difficult if arriving in the evening. Our host was very responsive and helpful. Our daughter's flight was delayed by a number of hours and she didn't arrive until after midnight. Jennifer was very accommodating. Once suggestion would be to indicate the supplies that are provided so that one can visit the market before arriving. The perfect home if you prefer peace and quiet in a beautiful location. The perfect place to make special memories. We loved it and would visit again!! :)

Unbelievable Place

I would go back there every time I had a chance to go to Italy. It's highly recommended. It's a beautiful city and the Jennifer's place was gorgeous. So much fun just relaxing on the property. We miss it already.

Near Perfect Ligurian Vacation Stay

A well appointed, charming, bright, airy and spacious 2-story home situated in the lush hillside above the charming town of Chiavari. The walk down (10' to 12') and back up (15' to 17') from Chiavari is steep but doable even for those not so young anymore with cranky knees, if taken easy. Jennifer, the owner, is gracious and responsive if needed but otherwise unobtrusive. Perfectly situated along the magnificent Ligurian coast within an easy, max one hour train or car ride to some of the most spectacular places, from Genova to Porto Venere (stay way from the hordes of tourists in Cinque Terra and focus on nearby Santa Margarita, Rapallo, Camogli, Portofino, San Rocco, Zoagli, etc).

Wundervoller Ort zum Entspannen

Alles vorhanden, was wir benötigten. Die schattige Terrasse vor dem Eingang war mein Lieblingsplatz zum Lesen, Musik hören etc. Fußwege in die Stadt oder zu den Stränden, sowie vor allem zurück waren schweißtreibend, aber machbar. Alle Familienmitglieder haben den Aufenthalt genossen!

Nice and quiet house

As a group of two families (5 kids) we found the perfect place for our stay in Liguria. Nicely situated within olive trees we enjoyed the evenings outside after spending the days at the beach. House owner Jessica was available all the time and helped us with every question we had. All in all, we can highly recommend a stay in casa Bianca.

Era proprio quello che cercavamo ed è stata una breve ma perfetta vacanza . Casa isolata dentro ad un bosco di ulivi ma con tutti gli spazi e i comfort che cercavamo. La proprietaria, non presente in loco, è stata molto gentile e molto disponibile alle nostre pochissime richieste. Consigliatissima a chi vuole scappare dal caos e dalla vita frenetica della città.

Sehr entspannte Woche

Wir waren hier mit zwei Familien mit insgesamt 5 Kindern. Das Haus liegt wunderschön sehr abgeschieden in einen Olivenhain aber irgendwie doch im Ort. Der Ausblick auf die gegenüberliegenden Hügel ist phantastisch. Zu Fuß ist man in 10-15 min in Chiavari, einem schönen kleinen belebten Ort. Wir hatten viel Regen in dieser Woche, aber das Haus bietet viel Platz und ist sehr gemütlich so dass wir uns immer wohl gefühlt haben. Jennifer war immer ansprechbar und sie hat uns immer sofort weitergeholfen, wenn es Fragen gab. Wie werden hier auf jeden Fall noch mal herkommen.
