Nice hotel.... pool closed

The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The pool which we were looking forward to was closed. Please don't advertise you have a pool and post pictures if it's not true.

We checked in at 10:45 PM and the person at the desk was fine and cheerful . When we opened the door to the room, we literally thought we were walking into a time warp. It smelled musty and moldy, and the toilet was running. The toilet continued to run all night long, but we were too tired to bother the girl who said she was getting off in a few minutes to try and get someone to fix it or to even move our room. The decor and “couch” looked like something from an old basement in the 60’s! Would not recommend. When we opened up our door in the morning at 6:30 to get the shuttle to the airport the hallway reeked of pot. It was the last thing I needed to smell on my way out of a horribly smelling musty room. Would be great if you could do some sort of an upgrade or at least take out the carpets or clean them.

Let's start with the good stuff, location was only a few miles from Uptown where my business was. Check in staff was friendly, allowed me to check in before the official time. There was coffee and ice cold lemon water at the check in area, plenty of luggage carts, and a small drinks and snacks concession behind the desk. The price ($115) was great for an actual suite with a totally seperate bedroom and sitting/"kitchen" area, tv's in each, and plenty of room. Also while I did not use this service, there is an airport shuttle. Free breakfast was more than continental, biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, as well as waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, etc. Now the negatives- this is a classic 90's era Comfort Suites, when they were pretty sweet. Back in the day when they were a "Premium" brand, known for elevated facilities within the Choice Hotels branding (which includes Radisson and Cambria all the way down to Rodeway Inn), this was the place to stay. All the Comfort Suites had indoor pools (the one here permanently closed, idle and empty), shuttles to nearby airports or attractions (which this one has), etc. But this property has alot of overlooked maintenance beyond the closed pool area. Scratched and dented everywhere from public areas to rooms and curb appeal, the property just need a quick upgrade. The entrance my GPS took me to was one of two to the hotel, this one gated by a rusty barrier with a lock. From this side you can see smoked out windows, no cars, and a d

Front desk rep was great… the breakfast was decent…. Other than that it was meh. Pool wasn’t open, room was dirty, pullout bed was broken. Seems kinda a sketchy area… before covid, this would have been an $89 hotel, and this would have sufficed. But $170 for this is laughable.

Just so everyone knows the pool is closed, permanently. So if you book the hotel by specifically selecting a pool you’re out of luck. The room was spacious but the carpet was brown and 100 years old and gross. The bathroom fan was broken. The curtains had some kind of disease on them. Plus the motor cycle racing through the night made it very very loud even with a noise machine.

My stay was great. I was up in the 3rd floor. It was very quiet. Everything was comfortable. When i went to close the shades though to sleep- they are disgusting. They looked like they had 5 years of funk and filth on them. I wanted to wash my hands after touching them. Everything else was clean.
