A review of our stay in late June 2026. So, some things may change since then. The Pros: The house was clean. It is located in close proximity to downtown Highlands, lots of hikes and waterfalls, an Ingles grocery store, and a reasonably quick drive to other cities. The porch is very enjoyable. It is on a pretty quiet street. A smaller vehicle could park under the carport and not get wet during rain. My husband has a dog allergy so we selected this property bc no pets are allowed. We only used the king sized bed, but the mattress and sheets were comfortable. Not specified: The house has a Keurig, not a drip coffee maker. Good to know before you go to the grocery store. The Cons: There is only one free-standing portable AC unit. It is set up in the breakfast nook, which is on the opposite side of the bedrooms. While we were there, the weather got hot, and the bedroom did not cool down until the early hours of the morning. This was uncomfy. WiFi and cell-service are weak, particularly during peak hours, so you likely WILL experience disruptions. I could not get calls/texts at the house at all on Verizon. Netflix only worked one night for us. Web browsing only worked in the early AM. If you need to do work remotely, plan to camp out at a coffee shop in town. This also made it a little challenging to reach the property manager with questions.
