Check-in was easy enough, even at 2am. Room was clean, if a little dated, and the amenities were good enough. Definitely looks lived-in, and there is a lingering odor of stale old pot. (I don't fault the property owners about that; welcome to Illinois) Blackout curtains are a godsend for those of us who sleep in. The property is quiet and safe. "Continental breakfast" consists of two types of cereal, milk and OJ. There's a Dunkin next door, and even better options in town (Branch, Harbaugh Cafe are two outstanding ones). Overall a great value for the price. Just get ready for a long walk if you don't own a car.

There was a fly in the room that got into the bathroom..I couldn't use the bathroom until i killed it because it kept flying around my head. Then there some sort of small fling bugs in the room. I asked if they had any flying bug spray they asked if they could come to the room i said yes. They stopped and got a can of LYSOL came to the room looked me in face and told nothing was in the room. As if I was some sort of liar. Said lysol was for bugs and started reading the label..and one of them said nothing was in there because he cleaned the room himself...I'm finished with this Super 8 carbondale.
