This is an old hotel so the lack of A/C was understandable but uncomfortable in 30 degree heat. Cracked floor/tiles in the bathroom. Doing the final check before leaving, I open a drawer I hadn’t used, which fell out narrowly missing my foot. Breakfast? Stopped serving at 10am which ensures a backup. I have never had to wait so long to be seated. Nominally self service but you wait to be issued with a mug, then queue whilst chap individually, item after item ,solemnly places. 2 rashers of bacon on your plate, one egg, etc. presumably to stop folk sneaking an extra sausage. This parsimonious approach explains why the fried eggs were rubbery and had obviously been standing for some time. No doubt the reply will be that I could have asked for more than one egg, but I wasn’t asked if I wanted two. As the process was so slow, the queue continued to build out in the lobby. Orange juice? It was labelled as such but it was more like orange squash!
The location is great, the staff were great but management need to sort out the breakfast offering and refurbish the fabric of what could be a fabulous hotel.
