This is a beautiful 400-year-old house that used to be a bed and breakfast. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom and there is great privacy for each room. It is quiet and peaceful, the kitchen is very well-equipped, there is even a restaurant quality wood-fired pizza oven. The downsides are the smell from the plumbing, the two smaller rooms, and the plumbing in those two rooms. In the kitchen there is a fairly strong fish smell. We narrowed it down to the floor drain in the kitchen. The host said it was due to the wind and to pour water down the drain. The wind stopped, we poured water, it still smelled the same and you were hit in the face with it every time you walked in.Second, there are 7 bedrooms in the house. Five of the bedrooms are very nice and comfortable, but two of them are in a separate area and are very stark white and devoid of personality which is fine. But one of these bathrooms has a macerator toilet and the shower drain smells like straight sewage which makes the entire bathroom stink. The other bathroom would gurgle and occasionally spew brown liquid into the bathtub when you flushed the toilet. I felt bad for the two guests we had in those rooms because they said it smelled so bad.Overall, we had a good experience except for the smells. It is a beautiful property.
