It is hard to overlook having the staff wake you up in the morning by trying to break into your room unannounced more than an hour before check out. Fortunately we had used the latch and they weren’t able to get in completely, but we heard them talking about going to get a crowbar. We had no idea who was trying to get in or why. Apparently someone in the next room had already checked out and they were going to clean the room, and they had a wrong room. Out of concern for both our safety and our privacy we called the front desk and they had explained the situation. They’re lucky we didn’t start by calling the police. They did not offer anything to make this right. I’ve never had a hotel experience where I had to wake up to my privacy breached by the staff trying to break into my room.
Additionally, the ice machine on our floor was broken. The one on the first floor was also broken. I had to find one in a different wing on a different floor. The renovations going on, rugs and decor strewn all over the halls and stairwells wouldn’t have phased us. The life machines would have been annoying and frustrating. But what we experienced waking up in the morning was unacceptable.
