This luxurious 3 bedroom apartment has been beautifully furnished throughout to provide the perfect seaside holiday location for families, outdoor enthusiasts, or just those looking for a coastal getaway.
The Getaway sits overlooking Bude’s award-winning Summerleaze Beach and enjoys uninterrupted views right across the bay, town and beautiful countryside. The beach, the sea pool and South West coastal path are on your doorstep, a links golf course is nearby, and for those looking for shopping or entertainment, the town centre and fantastic local restaurants and bars are just a short stroll away.
This ground floor apartment enjoys the high ceilings and large spacious rooms of a Victorian seaside house. Entry is through the garden via the enclosed porch/ sun room.
The lounge/diner has a large bay window seating and dining area, providing views across Bude for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The comfy sofas are big enough for the whole family to relax and unwind on in front of the smart TV.
The fabulous kitchen is directly accessed from the lounge and includes a range cooker and integrated appliances. The breakfast bar is perfect to work at, or for enjoying a drink as dinner is prepared.
The spacious and airy master bedroom has a gorgeous French style double bed, a chair bed, and a cot if required. The second bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with large shower, and there is a third bedroom for two further guests courtesy of twin beds.
The family bathroom includes a bath with power shower and heated towel rail, a vanity unit basin with plenty of storage space, and there is also a separate cloakroom WC.

Everything about The Getaway was perfect. Penny & Gary were the most gracious hosts and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could ever need. As far as location, you couldn’t get a much better spot, close to Sainsburys for your grocery needs and a short walk to town or the beach. We visit Cornwall every 2 years and The Getaway will be our home away from home every time now!

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at the property in June . The facilities were perfect and the extra touches from the host made us feel special. The location was just what we wanted with some gorgeous views. The host was easy to contact and made us feel very welcome. We couldn’t have had a more wonderful weekend .

It was the little touches

An amazing property in a great location. We have been going to Bude for several years as a group and this was our favourite property by far. We will be booking it for next year!! The apartment is so clean and spacious. Penny and the getaway crew made sure that we had all the information in advance of our arrival - communications were great! The little touches is what made the biggest difference… On arrival there were freshly made scones, cream and jam as well as croissants for breakfast. Penny also dropped by and gave our two young boys seaside activity books. The kitchen is well stocked and the sofa very comfortable! The location is perfect, short 5mins walk down the hill (it is steep but no steps) to Summerleaze beach and a couple of mins to some of the best restaurants in Bude and the shops.

Wonderful Experience

Beautiful and well equipped. The hosts were incredibly helpful. The apartment was fine for 2 older adults with mobility issues. (Access to the nearest beaches was more difficult.) So close to town and many restaurants. Sainsburys just behind so easy to get supplies. A wonderful time had by all, and especially by 6 yr old granddaughter, who on arrival was impressed with her gifts left with the Cornish cream tea. Definitely recommend.

Simply amazing

Our family of five were sad to leave when the time came. The location is amazing where you have a magnificent view of the beach and the hills. Everything you need is within a short walk distance. The property itself is wonderfully kept and decorated. Penny and Gary were great hosts and made sure our stay was as best as it can be. They kept in communication to make sure we had everything we need. We hope to be back in the near future. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Fantastic apartment in great location

Huge fabulous apartment right in the centre of Bude - 2 minutes to both the shops and beach. The place was really well equipped with everything you need and more! The hosts were very welcoming leaving us lots of local Cornish goodies in the fridge as well as some lovely fresh scones! Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, great private parking, very clean and modern, walking distance to everything. Highly recommend!

A wonderful property to spend a week in Bude - perfect location, extremely clean.

The perfect size for a family of 5, the owners have thought of everything. Close to the beach and town, beautifully clean and well furnished. Would definitely recommend.

The Perfect Staycation

What a wonderful staycation we had. We were 2 adults and 4 children and the apartment had ample room for all of us. The rooms were clean and spacious. Honestly no complaints at all about this beautiful apartment which is well maintained by the Owner's. In an excellent location....the beach on one side and the town on the other. Lovely walks on the cliffs and the sea and rock pool were a hit with the children. We would definitely come back here - we were lucky to have the heatwave the week we were here. The Owners were always on hand if there were any problems in the apartment. Thanks again to them for their attention to this. I don't really have any negative comments so please believe me when I say you will not be disappointed if you stay at The Getaway!

Outdoor active super comfy Getaway

Great location right next to Summerleaze Beach with a choice of surfing schools - walking on cliff top paths - tennis club few mins away - SUP’ing on the canal. Delightful house (ground floor) all set up with 2 parking spaces, outdoor shower, drying room, warm, super clean and very comfortable interior. Nice touches on arrival with scones, jam & cream, beer & fizz - PLUS all that’s required for a first morning breakfast in the fridge! Great comms from the owner & local house manager. Great house & a great stay!

Perfect location for town and beach

We were returning visitors to The Getaway this year, tempted back by proximity to the beach (2 mins downhill walk) with two little ones in tow. The property was spotlessly clean, missing a few books and toys we would have made use of for the kids (but for obvious reasons so no problem with this at all) and washable covers added to the sofas. The little welcome gifts and gorgeous foodie bits were delightful and a lovely, thoughtful touch after a long journey. The owners/house manager were on hand and happy to help if needed, and were really welcoming. Communication beforehand was also excellent. With the nearest supermarket a couple of minutes’ walk, and Bude’s delightful shops and restaurants nearby too, this couldn’t be better located. The house and kitchen are well equipped - we didn’t eat out this year - and we had everything we needed for home cooking. The weather was unkind to us for the most part which only increased the value of the location as it meant we could pop back and forth to the beach as weather dictated. We’ve stayed in larger properties further away but we definitely made the right choice this year. I couldn’t recommend this property and the consideration and hospitality provided by the hosts highly enough - so much so, we are already looking to book again for next year.

The Getaway....the best ever.

The extra treats on arrival made us feel very welcome indeed' I cannot praise the wonderful tastefully furnished accommodation enough. All our needs and more were provided for and made our stay very special. Such an ideal position too, so perfect for us. We do hope to return.

Just 'WOW '

The Getaway is just amazing! Spacious rooms, comfortable and beautifully decorated with thoughtful extras...books, games, puzzles and magazines. Fantastic cream tea, complete with Prosecco, and items for a cooked breakfast greeted us on arrival! The location is perfect, minutes from the beach, shops, bars and restaurants...in fact once we had parked our cars they didn't move the whole week, making it a very relaxing holiday! The outdoor shower was well used after a day on the beach and there was plenty of space for wetsuits and surfboards. Would highly recommend The Getaway and will definitely be returning in the future!

Stunning!

An absolutely stunning property in an amazing location! It was so thoughtful and lovely to arrive after a long drive, to the best scones I've ever tasted, jam and cream, as well as breakfast ingredients and a bottle of prosecco to wash everything down!! We couldn't have been much closer to the beach or the shops, it was perfect. We didn't need to get in the car all week. A totally relaxing holiday. I'm hoping we come back soon. Thank you so much for contributing towards a very memorable holiday.

Amazing location with everything you need for a relaxing getaway

We had a fantastic time at this property, it’s a few minutes walk from the beautiful Summerleaze beach which is ideal for young kids and older kids too. There is parking right next to the property and so many nice restaurants all within walking distance. We were lucky enough to stay during the RNLI celebrations week which had loads of things for the kids to see and do, plus a jazz festival. The property is well equipped even for rainy days with jigsaws, books and a good tv. The lady that looks after the place (Lizzie) was very welcome (amazing home baked scones on arrival and a full English ready in the fridge for the following morning). She lives next door and could not have been more helpful. We would definitely consider coming back if in the area.

Amazing home from home

We had a fabulous stay at the Getaway. The house was perfect, exactly as the pictures show. There was a beautiful cream tea left for our arrival and a the ingredients for a cooked breakfast the next morning. We had a little issue with the cooker which led to a power cut but help was there in 5 minutes of us notifying them and the problem was fixed. Couldn’t fault the holiday at all. The hot shower at the back of the house was great to clean off all the sand from the beach before going into the house and rinsing all of the beach things. The house was kitted out with everything you could need. It was a real home from home.

The Getaway - all you need to pack is your toothbrush! We were greeted with a Cornish cream tea and breakfast for the next day in the fridge! The apartment is beautifully designed and decorated. It is very well equipped with everything you need down to the gorgeous shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom, books and board games in the lounge and a very well equipped kitchen. The view is superb and the location is central. I highly recommend The Getaway. A fabulous place to stay.

Stunning property in magical location!

My family and I had a wonderful stay in this stunning property which comes fully equipped with anything you might need. Incredibly cosy, perfect for whiling away time on a rainy day. Sainsburys is behind house, high street across the street and beach pretty much on your doorstep. Didn't need to step into a car the entire week's vacation. Lots of local eating options and friendly local community.

Our expectations were surpassed. The Getaway was the perfect place to stay in Bude and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. We arrived to find a really lovely place with everything that you could possibly need at the seaside in Cornwall. Apart from the sea view, there were comfy beds, comfy sofas, bay window seating, and a great kitchen.....I want it! Its also very spacious. Our 84 year old grandmother also loved the porchway which was like a sunroom, and she spent several hours in there just enjoying it all.The bathrooms were also really lovely with bath and overhead shower in the main family bathroom and separate shower in the en-suite. There was also shower soap and hair conditioner which was totally unexpected. Our hosts were also very thoughtful. As a family with gluten free dietary needs, we also arrived to find a gluten-free take on the classic Cornish cream tea with a home-made Victoria sponge complete with loads of cream which was really delicious. One of the many activities that you can do in Bude is to surf, and this property also provided an outdoor hanging space for wetsuits, and outdoor shower by the back door (which was warm) to get the sand off. I really don't think that anything was missing at the Getaway. This is definitely the place to stay in Bude.
